It’s almost like context is a thing that exists in reality

You are not allowed to use the word ''context'' in any of your posts as you are one of those who refuses to use context when you want to push an agenda.

A few days ago they were on here saying 300K would be a flop for Drake in 2025 but 3 years ago the same people spent months telling people that 295K was great despite it being the big comeback album after 5 years of waiting

DLDT dropped smack dab in the middle of the pandemic and did 223k first week and they called that a massive flop for Drake, despite Drake making it clear that it was not his main studio album and was only a compilation of leaks and demos meant to tide fans over until the album came but they got upset when people didn't praise Kendrick doing 295k with his first rap album in 5 years as a massive success. The goalpost moving never fails lmao.

He's the same person who believed a surprise dance album by Drake should have easily done 400k+ units first week "because it's Drake." He's the same ones who clowned Drake fans who tried to offer context as to why that album performed the way he did.

I legitimately have never in my life said that Honestly, Nevermind should’ve done 400K+

I was one of the ones actually saying that 200K was reasonable for that album

I literally use and give context for basically every opinion I have in here

Even when I call out Drake singles for underperforming, I give context as to why they are. I never just say s*** and don’t use reasoning to back it up

You don't have to hold him to the same standard as regular artists, that's cool. But let's not act like Metro Boomin hasn't been BY FAR the biggest producer in black music in the last 10 years. No one else comes close. And rightfully so, he was smart to take advantage of that by giving himself artist credit on a bunch of albums and getting himself #1 albums/top 10 hit singles as an artist in that regard. But the same way he gets credit for the success of those albums, he also gets credit for the failures.

He does a lot more than DJ Khaled does and yet, if DJ Khaled drops an album that flops, we'd clown him on here for flopping and that clown doesn't even produce s***.

the project you are holding him to the fire for features

J Money, Travis Porter, Young Dro, Gucci Mane, Roscoe Dash, Quavo, Breskii, YKNiece, Skooly, Shad da God, Waka Flocka Flame, BunnaB, Meany, Jose Guapo, Rocko, Yung Booke, 2 Chainz, Young Thug, Lil Baby, T.I., 21 Savage, Future, and Yung L.A.

so off rip, it’s not comparable to Khaled because the project is immediately regionalized to a specific sound, barring most from even enjoying the types of projects that he and Khaled typically produce that bring different artists and their sounds together

with that said, the album also didn’t list any features so not only was it a very niche album, it also had people guessing who was on what track. you might know Quavo, Future, Thug, 21, 2 Chainz, TI and Savage in the modern rap climate, but all these artists were UNLISTED on disc 2 of a niche regionalized mixtape with 3 weeks of promo 😂

again, like I been said, ya’ll got it lmfao. you just don’t like Metro and hold him to a standard you’ve never held any other producer before, less than 12 months after he produced 2 #1 rap albums this was just something for ATL

That user is not exactly a smart person, to put it mildly. Constant flip-flopping, deflecting etc. to try to save his failed arguments. I don't think I've ever seen him emerge victorious in any debates

Young Dro, Roscoe Dash and Waka Flocka Flame in 2025

    Selling 20k is fine

regardless of how much you think the metro mixtape should have sold, i think everyone can agree that it is only a byproduct of the overall music environment and the fact that rap has never been in such a horrendous place commercially. besides kendrick and clipse nobody overperforms anymore, they only underperform.

every single song features an artist from ATL and the mixtape is an ode to 2008-2012 ATL so…what would that be twin?

Yall can't pick and choose when to apply context. Refusing to use it for some artists means that the same logic will be applied to the artists the same fellas want to protect.

Really is a s***ty way to discuss sales, right? That's why so many people should have their access to this thread removed. The levels of knowledge and logic have been absolutely horrid in this thread for the past 12 months.

Don't make me bring up your 2022 posts in here again 😂

It’s your people hyper focusing on his sales, they literally want everyone but Drake to fail, that’s really what’s killin discourse
