There are more than 2 streaming services lil boy
Morgan is still bigger on Spotify overall and outside of this I don’t care about that white music
Pop artists like The Weeknd (black) have a much higher % of their streams from Spotify.. what's your excuse for that?
Apple Music is the one with the highest streamed song being by a white pop singer and he’s calling it black media
Are you denying the fact that AM is dominated by country/rap now?
Yeah the boy might need to stick to Melodie’s if he’s gonna keep up the numbers gimmick.

…because Spotify as a whole is way bigger? You’re really dumb

I’m not, but you’re sitting here acting like Apple Music is some pro-black company when they’re not. They’re just the pre-installed default streaming service on the most popular US phone brand, and hip-hop was at its commercial peak when the streaming era kicked off.
If country continues its US dominance for the next 5-10 years, the Apple Music Top 500 list is gonna be more country heavy than it already is

Why are numbers so down right now? Back in October, ST. CHROMA off CHROMAKOPIA debuted with 5.2M US streams and that was released on a Monday morning at 6AM EST

https://twitter.com/chartdata/status/1941852991478252015Holiday weekend doesn’t help. It’s lowkey possible no songs are above 1 million tomorrow lol
Chart points so damn low rn drake probably got his next #1 with this one
Lets see how the streaming holds, I actually think it’ll go up bc streams are usually crazy low on holidays.
Damn.. Luther now getting outstreamed on Apple by Somebody Loves Me a Partynextdoor heavy track. He really got a hit with that one. Happy for PND.

Last summer on the exact same day Not Like Us was at 2.5M and the entire Top 5 was above 2M.
1.3M for the #1 song is abnormally low

people might be exhausted, it has been a lot of music in those 12 months and it seems people are more outside this summer

I was speaking to some of my younger cousins about music last night and it was the first time I’ve felt washed
But it explained so much about why numbers are so down right now, the younger generation really doesn’t give a f*** about any of this new music releasing. I asked them about the Drake song, they didn’t even know it dropped. They didn’t give a damn about Kendrick, they thought Travis and Uzi were washed, and they struggled to answer when I asked them their favorite rappers right now.
Mainstream music is in a really bleak spot right now imo

It's definitely a combination of what you said here and that older people are more nostalgic about old music. It will just get worse in the next 4-5 years
Iris, a song from 1998, gains 2.5 million streams daily since weeks lmao. Same with Rock That Body from Black Eyed Peas. People are tired of all that new slop music

Yeah it seems like old catalog music is continuing to grow as streaming grows unlike new music which seems to have hit a wall in terms of growth

I think streaming is replacing many other mediums for the younger generation. I predict we will continue to see a decline in movies, music, and books.
What's hard to get that music is being moved away from as king of media consumption
There's so much other stuff people can do with their time

It’s not just music though, it’s new music specifically

I mean that makes sense right?
It's a lot easier to throw on a song you've been familiar with and know that's good rather than find a new song and listen to and hope it's good
Oh man asap!
Whole rollout is cooked
