It would be super easy to prevent against fraud too: it would be either device-locked or IP address locked or wifi/data-locked, so that way if any stans are making duplicate accounts to cheat the system it would be easy to catch

And there would still be some level of bot manipulation, but that already exists with stream counts.

However, I think it would be much easier to detect fraudulent activity here with overall stream counts.

If a song was getting 1M daily streams but lets say only 200K people contributed to those streams, that would be suspicious

Yeah if you talking just US, Taylor “sold” more but globally UVST is the biggest album this decade.

DTMF is also a less accessible sound than un verano, it’s an ode to PR, no mega features etc. that being said, it’s a summer album and it’s going to pick up during summer. It’s still the most listened to album across all genres in US this year.
