Bad Bunny was the worst one itt because people just got racist as hell in 2022 and last month
I never said it would be twice as many streams. I can’t guess at the exact relationship, as there are too many factors there. Even 10% more streams though is a significant number, when talking about billions of streams.
Yeah I wouldn't doubt for a second there's at least a 10% increase through the mechanisms you mentioned, playlist exposure and the like. I'm really just trying to dismantle the assertion that it's 2x the way a lot of people here like to claim with zero evidence, cough cough @fader
And I know I’ve posted this here before, but instead of listening to TGD’s false and biased streaming takes that are designed to make Drake look good, listen to one of Billboard’s lead a***ysts who agrees more songs = more numbers

Tgd has the horrible argument tactic of thinking more words = more content, which distracts from the lack of nuance
And they eat it up

Got through the paywall and their estimate is that doubling Morgan Wallen's album tracklist from 18 -> 36 songs (100% increase) resulted in first week sales moving from 360k -> 501k units (39.2% increase). That makes sense to me

I mean you’d have to be seriously slow to not understand this. Every single one of Drake’s 509 songs is getting streams. Kendricks got 230 songs and every single one is also getting streams. If he had 1000 songs all 1000 would be getting streams.
If you take into consideration that Drake and Kendrick are the top and most popular rappers for over a decade now, it makes sense that Drake has way more streams given the fact that he has released double the amount of projects Kendrick has between 2015 and 2024. But what do I know?

The only real takeaway from that article is their estimate at the relationship of # of tracks -> sales for first week. They're saying in the case of Morgan Wallen's 36-track album, they think a version with half as many songs would've sold 360k instead of 501k first week
Are today's country singers super openly far right, singing about Trump and MAGA and s***? I haven't ever listened to country music willingly
