The Kendrick Super Bowl boost is as massive as it is because:
1. Most of the songs he performed were songs that are barely a year old and were popular (euphoria, not like us, squabble up, tv off, man at the garden, luther, peekaboo).
2. Most halftime show performers don't perform their most recent and most popular songs at their current commercial peak. They usually perform much older songs in their catalog at a point in their careers when they aren't necessarily commercially relevant anymore.

What Kendrick did would be the equivalent of Drake doing the halftime show in 2019 and playing all his 2018 hits. Or Rihanna playing the halftime show in 2013 and playing all her hits from 2009-2012.

No one has ever performed mostly recent, popular songs as their halftime show, that's why the boost he's getting is unusual.

There's no such thing as "with ease" with a release like this. Why? There's no clear rap hit record like there was on Honestly, Nevermind where Jimmy Cooks was track 14 but debuted at #1 because that's the only song Drake fans agreed to stream for the week. Gimme a Hug isn't a hit. He raps on it for like 45 seconds before finishing off with singing to an R&B sample. Nokia is a bop but one can't tell if/when that'll take off with people.

This is what I've always been trying to explain to people like you and you act like I'm just making excuses or trying to cover for Drake. His worst-performing music across his entire career are his R&B songs. You can check for yourself.

That's why I kept insisting that there was no situation in which this album would ever magically perform well. The subset of Drake fans who love his R&B songs is very small compared to the majority of his fanbase who prefers it when he raps. I mean, Gimme a Hug will likely end up being the highest-charting song off the album and that's because that's the song he barely raps on

I mean, Drake himself knows what everyone wants to hear from him at this point lol. He knows his fans prefer it when he raps, that's why no matter how pop he goes, he never strays too far away from rap. This is a side project to him, the same way Honestly, Nevermind was. This is likely something he's always wanted to check off his life: making a full album with PARTYNEXTDOOR and I'm very glad he did it because he already has the numbers and can always do better numbers with his next album.

I'm just saying all of this to provide context about how certain subsets of Drake's fanbase interact with the different genres of music he dabbles in.

This is a setup. It'll be a miracle if this does anything over 200k units.

It’s 21 tracks. What is lacks in a clear standout hit it’ll make up for in sheer number of songs alone. Based on its’ first day, for it not to finish around 200K first week, the drop off would have to be MASSIVE

You don't get to push this narrative. HUT had 22 songs and you were caping and coping for it underperforming on streaming so you don't get to use that as an argument for why this album should perform well. The performance of this album says absolutely nothing about Drake's current commercial standing because this was always going to be an album only a small subset of his fanbase engaged with anyways.
