If we're going based on popularity she deserves to be on there, but she never had huge cultural moments like the other things on his list

21 and 25 are the definition of cultural moments.

Hello is very likely the most talked-about release of the century. It was being discussed in the news all over the world as if it were a new world war.

Okay if he was so big, why had he never had one of his own songs chart on Billboard Hot 100 before MIA?

    Stop playing dumb for once

He was already a name by most latinos in the community over here, he wasn't unknown at all lol not everything is strictly about Billboard charts and maybe one day you will get it

His name was already bigger in his early days than Ice Spice and thats a fact and unlike Ice Spice he used his early features in a good way, one of the reasons why he got bigger in the US after it

Lol what? Everybody and your grandmother knows Rolling in the Deep and Someone Like You

She was by far the biggest artist in the world and she definitely moved the world at that time, of course this was a cultural moment

Lol @ not everything is about Billboard. We're talking about the popularity of the guy, how can you say he was big when he never had any popping songs (outside of features)? It's backwards

I never said he was unknown, he was mid level, like Ice Spice has been for the last year.

Here's a fact, far more people were googling Ice Spice in the last year~ than Bad Bunny in 2018. Literally 4x+ more

So now simply having huge songs = cultural moments?

So then Drake + The Weeknd had big cultural moments too then, right?

Blinding Lights was definitely a cultural moment. Drake never had one.

Also Adele never had "huge songs" lol. Once again you're playing dumb, people should just ignore you since you're not from the US anyways

I don't think music being discussed widely like that makes it a cultural thing, a cultural thing is something deeper.

I was in Spain and they were discussing TTPD on the news there constantly, I would not say that album did anything culturally

Bad Bunny’s first week had 4 days of tracking. His 2nd week is where the album peaked.

HLB definitely was, it was so big even Trump did an SNL skit with it (not saying Trump is the culture, just using him to show how far it reached outside Drake’s core fanbase)

One Dance wasn’t though, even though it peaked higher on the charts

Scorpion sold 3.7M copies in 2018. 3.4M in SEA sales, 308K in pure sales, and 4.3 billion streams.

Un Verano Sin Ti sold 3.4M copies in 2022. 3.32M in SEA sales, about 68K in pure sales, and 4.3 billion streams.

So it finished with like 300K less than Scorpion without any physical copies available, was streamed basically the exact same amount of times, and did all of this while being an album completely in Spanish.

Un Verano Sin Ti is currently at 18 billion streams on Spotify, and Scorpion is at 10 billion. UVST is getting 7 million daily streams, and Scorpion is getting 2.3 million.

On the US Spotify Chart, UVST is currently at #41, and Scorpion is at #148.

If you wanna say “that’s because Bad Bunny just dropped an album”, then if we go back to a random day in August last summer, UVST was at #31 and Scorpion was at #163. If you wanna say “that’s because of the Kendrick beef”, then we can go back to February 2024 and UVST was at #28, while Scorpion was at #73.

Acting like it can’t be argued that Bad Bunny’s 2022 was bigger than Drake’s 2018 just feels like an opinion that can only be rooted in racism or xenophobia

What a disingenuous post. Your hate for Drake is truly boundless

It's really something else. Imagine thinking Drake's 2018 on Billboard (probably a top 3 biggest year any artist has had on Billboard this century), isn't as close as Bad Bunny's year in 2022. And saying that with confidence when the numbers can easily be pulled up

Biggest song of the night, biggest song of his career. I bet it returns to #1 on the Hot 100, further solidifying itself as his biggest song.
