Scorpion sold 3.7M copies in 2018. 3.4M in SEA sales, 308K in pure sales, and 4.3 billion streams.

Un Verano Sin Ti sold 3.4M copies in 2022. 3.32M in SEA sales, about 68K in pure sales, and 4.3 billion streams.

So it finished with like 300K less than Scorpion without any physical copies available, was streamed basically the exact same amount of times, and did all of this while being an album completely in Spanish.

Un Verano Sin Ti is currently at 18 billion streams on Spotify, and Scorpion is at 10 billion. UVST is getting 7 million daily streams, and Scorpion is getting 2.3 million.

On the US Spotify Chart, UVST is currently at #41, and Scorpion is at #148.

If you wanna say “that’s because Bad Bunny just dropped an album”, then if we go back to a random day in August last summer, UVST was at #31 and Scorpion was at #163. If you wanna say “that’s because of the Kendrick beef”, then we can go back to February 2024 and UVST was at #28, while Scorpion was at #73.

Acting like it can’t be argued that Bad Bunny’s 2022 was bigger than Drake’s 2018 just feels like an opinion that can only be rooted in racism or xenophobia

Okay? But thats just Drakes album which sold the MORE anyhow. Now add Drakes INSANE feature run of 2018 and this becomes not even debatable. Look Alive, Never Recover, Going Bad, Yes Indeed, Walk it Talk it, Flip The Switch, No Stylist, Sicko Mode, MIA… LMFAO. Yo that list is insane. Nah 2018 Drake is infinitely larger.

The Weeknd sold 130k. The narrative of him selling 490k needs to stop. Dude sold opium merch and half pressed vinyls for first week sales. Its embarrassing. Them streams were ass

“The narrative of him selling 490K” and that’s literally what happened

Drakes 2016 and 2018 are level 1 bro. He trying to be different lmao. No one has had years like that besides MJ.

You are so delusional it’s insane

He has never cleared 500K first week, yet he has three of the biggest albums since 2015. Do with that what you will.

He doesn't have a single album in the top 30 selling albums of the last decade in the US

globally yes, not in the us

Scorpion sold 3.9m. So he sold more albums, then also had Sicko Mode + Walk It Talk It, which were both everywhere and you're saying Bad Bunny was bigger? lmao.

Same size? sure, but Bad Bunny's 2022 was definitely not bigger

    Drake in 2018:
    1. Scored 3 solo #1 hits that spent 29 weeks at #1 on the Hot 100 (the most weeks at #1 by an act in a calendar year).
    2. Scored 13 top 10 hits (broke the record held by the Beatles for most top 10 hits in a year, 12).
    3. Scored the biggest debut week for any album in that year.
    4. Scored the bestselling album in that year.
    5. Most-streamed artist on Spotify.
    6. #1 artist in the world based on IFPI's global artist chart.

Yet you have people like fader downplaying it, because he was 13 years old when Scorpion came out.

Look at how this fell into the hole of sales when that’s just a fraction of the point. Capitalistic uncultured zombies, I’m ashamed I even started the convo. Like the word culturally wasn’t a qualifier of the og post

I find it funny that Drake stans don’t include Morgan Wallen in these “biggest year ever”conversations.

One Thing At A Time sold 5 million copies in 2023, an additional 3 million in 2024, and they act like it doesn’t exist. It’s like they understand the difference between just selling a ton of albums and actually vastly affecting culture while doing so.

That’s why I gotta laugh when they try to say stuff like “Drake keeps the lights on at Universal”.

It can genuinely be argued that he’s not even a Top 3 biggest artist on their roster right now

Morgan did not have 4-5 absolutely huge songs in a single year like Drake did, it's that simple

Yikes, this is a really really awful take and feels uniquely myopic.

He was an Ice Spice level artist until MIA, that's a fact. Arguably even less than Ice Spice. People knew him as the Cardi B feature guy.

If we're going based on popularity she deserves to be on there, but she never had huge cultural moments like the other things on his list
