Basically. All physicals act as collector's items in this day and age. Everyone listens via streaming so it you debut with low streams, you know people aren't really listening to the music like that but loyal fans will always show support however they can, hence the huge sales figures.

This is extremely disingenuous and overly generalizing

im sure vinyl sales skyrocketting in recent years is only because of collecting and not people actually listening to them

After Hours debuted with 220M streams.

    Starboy debuted with 175M streams.

Dawn FM debuted with 173M streams.

    HUT debuted with 171M streams.

What is this standard y’all speak of

83% of all music revenue came from streaming. 4 years ago, that number was around 89/90%. It's reduced a bit thanks to the continued growth of vinyls. Still, 83% of all music revenue being generated via streaming goes to show you just how many people listen to their music via streaming. There's absolutely nothing disingenuous or generalizing about my post.

Well, he has 8 certified Diamond records now. chartdata just confirmed 6 more in the past week, which brings him to 14. Add in the 3 I just mentioned and that's 17. Songs like Yes Indeed, Look Alive and Going Bad are also Diamond-eligible or very close to it. Don't be surprised if those reach the mark this year as well. That'd bring him to 20 and the current record is 9, held by Post Malone.

    Not true whatsoever.

He is a slow burn artist; he is not a singles artist whatsoever

Well, if that's the case, HUT should have no issues performing as well as CLB has performed with basically no hits.

It technically is sure, but no one actually considers those Taylor’s Versions to be new releases in her discography; they’re glorified reissues

Tell that to her fans who are using those re-releases to give her new #1 albums. They have their own chart runs, are made up of at least 10 extra songs and are debating with 1M+ units with every drop.

You said “all physicals act as collector’s items”. That’s generalizing.

Someone can primarily listen via streaming because it’s the easiest method, but also buy physical copies and listen to them in the right environment

Take Care, Fake Love, Forever, Laugh Now Cry Later, Money in the Grave and Wants and Needs are also running behind. Those might hit the 10M mark later this year or early next year.

Oh, I know lol. She's charting 10 albums weekly and all the re-releases are charting. That's why I'm confused why anyone would think they're not being treated like new albums by the people who matter lol.
