400K+ is absolutely unreasonable considering he’s only done that twice in his entire career:

    • Once in 2015 when album sales were completely different than they are today.

    • And once in 2020 but he needed to sell lollipop bundles and ticket bundles to reach that number.

I’m saying 300K+ is very much possible, but 400K+ is unrealistic. People expect Drake to clear that with every album because he’s the #1 artist when it comes to streaming and he’s blew past that figure multiple times.

400K is low for Drake, but it’s high for Weeknd:

    • In a 15 year career, Drake has only finished below 400K twice (three times if we’re including WATTBA).

    • In a 14 year career, The Weeknd has only finished above 400K twice.

How do you not understand why people have two different first week expectations for these two artists?

It's not unrealistic, you're just scared of him not reaching that mark and being mocked so you're underselling big time to be safe. Whatever.

    Very solid projections so far.

According to you, 350k is solid but 400k+ is unrealistic. Make it make sense.

350K would be solid. 400K+ would be amazing.

Most of the sales are probably physicals, this only debuted with 58M streams day one

How am I underselling big time?

Before the album dropped I predicted between 250-300K.

Then, when we learned it was 22 tracks and the first word of mouth reviews were extremely positive, I changed my prediction to 340K.

    How am I underselling?

    It’s hitting 400K

    Getting 10B+ streams

Stadium tour going to probably average 9-10M per show

Let’s see what that next album sells

Wow great numbers for Abel. If it stays stable for another week it will probably beat off GNX’s physicals release. But all good at least both the goats are winning

Some of them will never understand that

Ye turned into a nazi in 2022 and still does billions of streams every year

Exactly. Nobody is deleting memories from their library, but we’ll see if his next project is met with the same fervor as a usual Drake release is

If the album holds are solid during the week it could get closer to 400k

It won't be because it's an R&B album. This is you being disingenuous again.

Elimination of Drake as a character is indeed complete.

He started claiming his Jewish heritage in lawsuits as defense and mental distress from rap beefs under oath.

Mob ties and hip hop Drake persona is indeed dead.

Crazy how Weeknd and Drake both ended their characters same year.

Correct. The final number will be determined by how stable it remains on streaming. HitsDD is most likely getting the 350K+ estimate from mostly pure sales

Okay, then the next solo Drake record. That better?

FATD sold 400k first week and it's still good but it's clear as hell that people were tired of him and moved on faster than with his previous albums but they will tell you otherwise

Drake needs to deliver with $$$ or his next solo project

Yeah I never was one of those who called FATD a flop but I did say it was a little underwhelming considering he had just released an album at the same length two years prior and it sold 200K less than that one did

His next solo RAP album is what people should project their commercial expectations on. Now R&B collab albums, when historically, those are his worst-performing songs commercially lol. This is exactly how y'all looked when were insisting that a surprise dance album by Drake should perform how his rap albums simply because they're by Drake. Try to avoid disingenuous takes this year.

I still think it's his worst album. It's so obvious that he did all those rap songs in the span of 3 weeks because he was scared to flop hard

Another disingenuous take. If this was the Weeknd, you'd have ever excuse in the book ready to go
