Major labels need to just merge the social media experience with the music streaming experience. F*** it, launch a streaming service on a social media app so that the listening experience can be the ideal audiovisual experience that music listening should be in the current age. I’m talking it has a TikTok/reels/shorts type display of songs in an album.

You can do album mode or music video mode and have the lyrics display on either, or just straight lyric mode. Album mode is just the cover, music video mode is album mode but the music video for every song with a music video, lyric mode is self explanatory - but you can choose a background color for the lyrics & . You can also do your own edits for cover art, have any mp4 you wanna play or any picture from your gallery for a playlist cover.

And weigh the streams - that only count from clicking play on the specific service - as much as Spotify and Apple streams. It’s imperative that it’s a streaming service on an existing social media platform and not something separate because the social discussion of music needs to right there around the corner. I think celeb discussion being separate from art discussion encourages the growing separation between celebrity and artist within music.
