weeknd 9th on US Spotify this year but 2nd globally
weird, I don't understand that, whilst Taylor is #1 on both
This is the same clown who clings on to every random, useless The Weeknd stat to validate why he's a massive global force btw but when it comes to someone else, all that logic goes out the window, giving way to "feelings"
“I feel Beyoncè is bigger than Taylor Swift so she must be.” If that isn't mental illness, I don't know what is.

You know damn well you understand :jordanlaff3:

It’s almost like… there are more countries globally than just the USA

Are you implying that UMG botted his streams as well?
There are numerous artists who have discrepancies in their USA vs. Global Spotify stats this year:
Singling out The Weeknd is definitely a choice
Yeah I meant relative to her stature in the US
There's a huge difference between doing like 12 stadium dates outside of the US vs what Taylor's doing with the Eras Tour
it's nuts to compare them at this point
the closest artist to Taylor is Adele and then Harry Styles tbh
adele could only sell 800k in 2021..she's far below taylor at this point. and 0 relevance in this current zeitgeist
Eminem got you wiped down?

Eminem got that midget wiped down
The biggest year of his career and Eminem still outstreams him

was curious how much people cared about beef outside the US, it's not surprising no one really cares on the grander scheme of things lol
Fair but it's the same for TAylor v Beyonce comparisions then. Taylor and Harry basically debutted at the same time.
legacy peaks also shouldn't matter for discussing who the biggest artist is. it makes no sense. Saying Ed Sheeran is bigger than The Weeknd for example would just feel wrong
Harry debuted in 2006?

it was 20th most listened song globally
2nd in US
That being said, grander scheme of things in rap is America it's rest of the world that's irrelevant.
A goal of an international artist is literally break out in US. We got everyone from burna Boy to Karol G doing more touring in US than their own country because for the most part this is the most and in many cases only relevant market.

i was interested in it more from a cultural angle than a sales one but it's interesting in both cases
Did Sabrina carpenter just start making music or is that espresso song the reason I now know of her
