I thought pop wasn’t wiping down rap in the mainstream right now? Only rap album here is the one that released this week

Tito Double P has been going crazy this year. I hope this teaches corrido artists that they need to stop trying to cross over with rap and pop features and just focus on making good music.(Looking at you Peso Pluma).

Sao Paulo 1st day performance Spotify
    Global 10th - 4.8m
    US 69th - 614k LMAO

A "global superstar"'s brand new song for his "last ever album" debutting at 69th in the US. Lmao

it's safe to say the general public is tired of this rollout, what a s*** show

Do you not get tired of this?

    Genuine question.

After the Thriller video was released, the album started selling over a million a week for a bunch of weeks straight. I think we’re gonna see something similar in the next couple years and the current album experience resurgence is gonna lead to it. Brat to be specific

I think this is inevitable on a mystical level

Explain? You think this is gonna happen with a specific artist or album?

Yes either a vet with a resurgence or a newer artist with crazy momentum. I got that Brave feeling about this one just like when I had a feeling and said Her Loss would do 410k first week, Taylor would do 2 mil after Eras or Kendrick would have a smash #1 worthy diss in the tuck after Like That

These gen z (born and appealing to) artists are onto something different concerning the album format. I’m sure the executives see what’s happening. Olivia, Tyler, Charli, Sabrina. It’s all coalescing and people are waking up to how vital the full album experience is

Once the album format becomes visual for this era of music with videos on Spotify, it’s even more over

I'm trying to put together what you're saying. so you think that the newer gen-z stars are doing something different with their albums that's leading/will lead to a revitalization of the format? and on the back of that, a certain star can make a video that's as impactful to the success of their album, like Thriller's video was to the album?

This is gonna get a lil cray cray but hear me out: the overall decline in engagement and consumption with/of albums has forced musicians and deeply music minded folks to understand the album on a dopamine level, and the recently growing exceptions like the examples I have are proof of what I’m saying

It’s only going up. Tyler is further proof
