    He's a pop act he's supposed to

I agree. Then I’m not sure why people are in here saying otherwise

Well his album did just out stream Weeknd's last two on first day

But I don't think he'll having any lasting impactful songs here

Again I ask, does the first day matter if the first week overall still ends up being less?

Gonna be Apple to oranges here
Unless someone adds up his first 7 days so we can compare

Someone will be able to I’m sure

This Tyler album I think is really dope, but I’m very positive the numbers over the next few days are gonna take a hard nosedive

The 2020 Spotify numbers are not available.

In 2021, he wasn’t in the Top 5.

If I had to make an educated guess, I’d say yes, he did more streams in 2022 + 2023 since he was in the Top 5 in the US in both of those years.

Only info I can find for 2020 is HDD saying that he was 9th in total streams in the US.

ehh measuring like that is silly, @thegreatdivine probably has the plug for actual units, i can't find it atm

Surely he wasn't top 5 in 2023? unless that's spotify only
Taylor+Morgan+SZA+Drake all smoked him, then I imagine Trav+Bad Bunny outstreamed that year

Tyler ruining Gaga's debut which was already expected to be weak (#25)

@fader You know the craziest s*** about The Weeknd talk

Dawn FM did less streams than Starboy first week, even with all the growth of streaming between them. That's why when you try say that Weeknd has grown since AH, it's just insane to me.

He was #3 in streaming in 2023.

Most artists are getting most of the units from streaming besides someone like Taylor, and Spotify is the platform with the most users.

Travis, Bad Bunny, Drake, SZA, and Morgan Wallen all did not out-stream The Weeknd in the US in 2023

Bro what are you talking about

    You’re saying ten different things.

You said Weeknd hasn’t grown on streaming in the US since 2020.

I just showed you hard proof and evidence that he did. He amassed more streams in the US in 2022 than he did in 2020

Nah I was always talking about first week numbers, his first week streams went down from AH -> Dawn FM. And Dawn FM was lower than Starboy, an album from 6 years prior

Meanwhile in 2017 Drake did 274k streaming sales with ML (2017)
    FATD (2023) 392k.

Tyler the Creator 30k streaming sales in 2017, now 200k+

why hasn't the Weeknd's streaming sales grown? His back catalog is getting more streams yet its not translating into first week hype, why is that?

Eh? these first day numbers are 100% 200k+ streaming sales. If he dropped on friday anyway, it'll be a bit less because he didn't, but still more than Dawn FM I bet
