Well who cares, a diss song does not cater to white people who don’t pay attention to rap beefs.

Cole can still pull decent numbers without a RnB singer

People think rappers can pull off 300k+ without promotion like its year 2000

Who are these white people you speak of? Everybody is paying attention to this beef there’s a reason like that went number 1

I’m refering to people who stream and buy a big portion of these artist

So yes, 140k for not pushing actively for an album is good for J cole

to be fair to cole i expect the fall off to be in the 250-300k range

The way he's marketing it, I think it might be in the 400k-500k range tbh

and that's why you guys don't know what your talking about.

Honestly, Never Mind was not marketed as a typical Drake album. It's was a surprise release and it's a dance album. It's not expected to do huge numbers first week. That album later went platinum btw. Not really a flop.

Might Delete Later is not a typical J Cole album. It's actually a mixtape. It shouldn't be expected to do huge numbers either.

Expectations are different with side projects and mixtapes bro.

We're also not in 2010 anymore. 140-160k is better than most rappers. There's alot of rappers that wish they can "flop" like Cole and Drake. Put things in perspective.

This is a dumb post because it's not 7 niggas in rap right now touching those numbers with an album.

Anyone defending these J. Cole numbers is pathetic, this is supposed to be the #3 guy. 150K is terrible.

If Kendrick dropped an album tomorrow and it sold 150K, he would get clowned on here.

Isn't this a mixtape? If so, this is alright numbers.

But, if this is a hint at how much The Fall Off will sell fw, then that'll make the title of the album incredibly ironic.

Like others said, Kendrick got dragged to hell and back for just being a few units short of 300k fw for MMTBS. Hell, MMTBS's projections are part of what make this megathread blow up.

Ya'll gonna have to give Cole the same energy especially if you're cosigning him saying that Kendrick's music ain't hitting.

Does the title of a mixtape really affect how it's perceived in 2024 with streaming?
