A difference of 17M is moot. Numbers are still down overall.
For context, thank u, next did 307M first week on-demand streams

TUN is her best project
It's almost like when more people enjoy the music - the numbers go up
225 is an obviously great number but it’s so crazy how no one can move physicals like Taylor. Eternal Sunshine has 7 different variations and it maybe gave her a boost of 50-60k
Tortured Poets is gonna do 1.5-2 million and over a million of those sales are going to come from physicals.

No, the more accessible an album is the better chance it has of selling. Ariana was at her commercial peak in 2019 and the three singles on that album are as accessible as you can get
Numbers =/= quality
Kanye scored his first hit in forever and the first thing y'all jumped to say is "oh, look, this Kanye hit is bigger than ALL of Drake's hits this decade." A statement that's factually incorrect and just proves y'all are thirsty to talk s*** about Drake's achievements this decade (like there's anyone in rap who comes close to replicating what he's done).
Drake is still scoring some of the biggest hits in rap today. That hasn't changed. A song doesn't have to spend 52 weeks in the top 10 to be a hit. Most of his biggest hits from the 2010s didn't spend that much time in the top 10. Some of them didn't even peak in the top 10. So what's the point in trying to down him by saying "oh, but his hits this decade aren't as big as his hits in the 2010s." He thoroughly dominated that decade and is doing the same this decade. It doesn't matter whether his hits now are as dominant as his hits back then because he's still outdoing everybody.
That's why the whole debate is pointless. Y'all are just mad at his success and the fact that it took Kanye scoring a hit for y'all to start this silly debate, proves that.
Dont take it so srs
Its just to annoy drake stans who been the most annoying stans in the world for some time
Read ur post. Annoying af

The album with more songs and features from The Weeknd and Doja is less accessible than the album with 0 features?

positions is much more R&B leaning, which is a genre that has struggled to maintain dominance in the mainstream over the past decade. It’s probably Ariana’s heaviest R&B album to date.
Also, the album was released with very little promo in the middle of a pandemic.
And finally, it came a year after her biggest album, when the world wasn’t really clamoring for a new album from her yet.
But to keep it simple, yes, thank u, next is a more accessible album than positions overall, even despite the bigger features.
The same way that CLB is a more accessible album than For All the Dogs, even though the latter has the bigger feature names

clb had way bigger features

No. SZA (twice), Bad Bunny, and Cole are bigger than the biggest names on CLB
Literally the biggest R&B star, the biggest Latin star, and the third/fourth/fifth biggest rapper all featured on one album

Excuses weren't a part of your theory that everyones numbers are down
FATD underperformed cause it's s***, and Vultures did Rod Wave numbers cause it's near unlistenable

Of course that's what you say when someone calls you out on your bullshit. That's the only time it turns to "it's not that serious. Drake stans are just annoying." F*** off, man.

Shout out SZA for real. CTRL & SOS certified classics
Can’t Lie, dude who said “people clowed Kendrick for MMTBS first week sales are looking shaky” was spot on
People really acted like the early 2020’s changes didn’t entirely shift what is regarded as good numbers. If you said Ariana would get less than what kendrick got, people wouldn’t believe you.

It’s sad to think you live in a reality where the quality of music is determined by how many copies it sells

Lmao these are A-List artists, not indie acts. Sales is a good indicator on if people are into the music or not.
Those two albums just happen to be s***. I prefer Positions to the new one.
Some of you guys need to pick up a sport to watch and argue about stats all day because it just doesn’t work the same for art like music and movies

Sales are an indicator on whether the music is popular or not. It has nothing to do with whether or not the music is good.
Also you’re contradicting yourself. If you yourself prefer positions over eternal sunshine, you should understand how sales don’t equate to quality, because you prefer the album that sold less first week

Tbh, NBA sports commentators are just as if not more obsessed with stats and rings.
And it's made modern NBA sports shows borderline unwatchable.

very debatable
sza, sexy red, bad bunny, jcole vs future x2 coming off one of biggest songs of the decade, young thug, lil baby coming off one of biggest albums this decade, lil durk, Jayz, lil wayne, rick ross, kid cudi, giveon
cole not that big anymore. bad bunny not either tbh especially not to sway it to fatd

Lmao these are superstars signed with billion dollar companies. They all make popular music.
Sales indicate if the people like it or not, I never said low sales = bad album. FATD and Vultures just happen to be s***.
There's a reason why DAMN and GKMC is outstreaming Morale already, the fans weren't into it.

They love to give the credit of every Drake album's success to everyone but Drake himself.
