Taylor has the GP on lockdown rn. I'm on Bumble and practically every non-Black woman and even some BW I come across either identify as a Swiftie or have her posted on their Spotify list.
Taylor is legitimately a Juggernaut. I don't care for her music and feel her last album in particular was overrated to oblivion. But her success clearly shows that she appeals to far more people than just diehard fans.

And, in South Asia, it's not even close. Taylor is massive number and streaming wise there while Drake isn't even close. Only Eminem comes close to Taylor's numbers out that way.

I don't think Drake's decline is anything to do with age though, more the type of music he makes now and the laziness with marketingThe masters to Cash Money’s music (including Drake’s 2008-2018 releases) was being shopped around 2019-2020, and Drake’s new deal with UMG wasn’t finalized until 2021 so it’s pretty obvious that had some effect and was tied into everything.
Also you keep neglecting that again, Universal/Republic had stakes in that music to begin with.
So even if they “paid him $500 million” (again, this never happened) for just his new music and that s*** sold 0 copies his old music is basically secured to generate billions the next decades. They will always make a profit off of Drake’s name lmao.
All they have ties in with his new music is a distribution deal. And Drake’s music practically costs NOTHING to distribute for an artist of his caliber. He does not promote much, doesn’t manufacture physical copies, doesn’t make expensive music videos, doesn’t invest in Pop radio. Yet his music still sells millions. A label would have to honestly be completely stupid to lose profit on Drake music. The biggest guaranteed bag.

I don't care for her music so I can't speak to that.
But I do know critics went crazy over Folklore and Evermore. I never listened to those albums but they've received a lot of acclaim and won her over a lot of Indie fans.
It's all subjective anyway. There's people who feel the same way about Beyonce's music, Kanye's music, Drake's music, Jay-Z's music, Rihanna's music, etc. There's not really that big of a consensus on this sort of thing like people think.
There's enough Swifties out who feel like Taylor is a great songwriter or whatever so there's that.
