What's the source for these Drake numbers? Are these just pure sales or are streams counted too? Because, honestly, I'll be very surprised if CLB really sold 3.2M albums in pure sales in 2 years. Or even, Scorpion selling 6.4M.
Taylor is 50M equivalent album sales ahead of Drake worldwide, not sure what he's on about.
When are we going to start the discussion that Bad Bunny not top 3 artists out rn? He flopped with this album and hasn't had any hits since early last year, only reasons he gets brought into the discussions is cause of the worldwide tour w stadium... BUT Weeknd and Taylor doing same thing AND they got hits that remain in the top 15
He’s been the most streamed artist for multiple years in a row now. Whether or not he sells or makes great music is irrelevant. People type his name in Spotify and want to listen to him more than Drake, Taylor, Abel, etc.,
We're not citing KTT trolls, my dude. Go on Twitter to the Travis Scott community page, go on the Travis Scott subreddit, go on the Travis Scott discord — people are all complaining. Except you think everyone complaining is a troll, I don't know what to tell you.
Even if those items were all shipped from the warehouse, they never made it to the hands of many people who ordered them and that's also the fault of Travis/his team because free shipping and the $5 price tag were all those things they used to get fans to buy those vinyls in large amounts.
The fact remains that Travis sold those vinyls at $5 a pop (which is the lowest vinyls can be sold to still count towards the Billboard 200) to boost his album on the charts for the first 4 weeks. By the fifth week, the vinyls had run out and his numbers dropped drastically.

They have not physically shipped out yet but shipping labels were made for the orders so they can count for Billboard’s idiotic rule.
There’s no reason why pre-order sales with an estimated shipping date should not count towards the sales week of the week they were bought
Ok. Let’s ignore rest of the world for a minute. Domestically, T-Swift moved 13M units this year; the biggest sales year ever in Billboard history - and will likely finish at 16M.
That meet your bar?
myb you got me confused w/ someone else cause personally I think Taylor has had the most successful year of any artist in probably 15+ yeras
the only weird part of her success this year is her lack of hot singles

It’s funny how they act like streaming numbers are the most important metric when Drake is the topic of discussion, but then when there’s another artist like Bad Bunny doing just as well if not better than him on streaming, the goalpost gets moved

This place was jerking Bad Bunny off a year ago
Now yall care about worldwide suddenly

They always shift the argument when it suits them. This thread has always focused on discussing US numbers only. I post the Billboard 200/Hot 100 data here, as well as RIAA certifications (which are also US-based) and other happenings in the industry as they concern the US music market.
I made a separate thread for IFPI discussions because those are global numbers but even then, they showed very little interest in discussing that back then because the narratives didn't suit them.
Whenever they wanna discuss The Weeknd or Bad Bunny's success, they never wanna talk about it as at concerns the US market. That's when how global their numbers are comes into play but when we discuss Drake, Taylor Swift, Morgan Wallen, Harry Styles and a bunch of other rappers/R&B singers etc, we can all stick to US numbers.
It's very funny to me lmao.
IFPI is once a year.
We can talk about Harry and Taylor's global numbers too. These are all global artists.
And Harry is probably bigger outside the US.
please dont ever compare Taylor to the goat MJ
Also don't ever compare Drake and Abel to the goat MJ

It’s because y’all act like these artists aren’t hot anymore when in reality they just perform better in markets across the globe.
Also, using a Spanish artist’s US numbers to gauge how popular they are is the definition of insanity

All the Drake stans on here are mad that he streams just as well as Drake does so they’re using his US sales figures to belittle him

This is the biggest cope ever. I can 100% use the US to gauge how popular Bad Bunny is because:
1. He was the biggest artist in the US last year, according to Billboard. He was the #1 artist on Billboard's 2022 Year-End chart.
2. He had the biggest album in the US last year, according to Billboard. He had the #1 album on the 2022 Billboard 200 Year-End chart.
3. He played a SOLD OUT arena AND stadium tour in the US last year, something even the biggest English-speaking/US acts can't manage.
Un Verano Sin Ti debuted with less than 300k units but still had ELEVEN weeks of over 100,000 units IN THE US. It scored multiple top 10 hits and was charting songs off the album on the Hot 100 for months despite them not being sent to radio.
How the hell can't I judge an artist who had that much success in the US JUST LAST YEAR this year because they're Spanish? How does that register as sensible to you?
"It breaks the record for longest climb to #1 on the Hot 100 for a non-holiday song by a female soloist in history"
these stan twitter accolades 😩

It’s not cope at all.
What you’re positing is that Bad Bunny was not huge prior to 2022 because he didn’t have that breakout moment in the US yet. And that could not be further from the truth.

Quick, point out where I said that.
Quick, point out where I said that.
My point was that using US sales figures to gauge how big a Latin artist is is ridiculous.
You said it’s fair considering that he had a huge year in 2022.
Implying that, to you, Bad Bunny was not huge prior to 2022 because he hadn’t had his breakout moment stateside yet.
I can't judge the biggest artist in the US last year this year because they're a Latin act. That didn't stop them being the biggest act in the US last year across the charts and live shows but I can't judge them on that same scale this year because they're not performing as well this time around so now, it's time to invoke them being a Latin act as cope. Have some shame, man. What an embarrassing excuse.
Bad Bunny isn't new to US success. Bad Bunny has a #1 hit, 11 top 10 hits and 3 #1 albums to his name in the US but I can't judge his success in the US because he's a Latin act.
