If a Drake stan was a 18th century British philosopher then they'd ask "if an album drops in the woods and sells less than 200k first week does it still make a noise?"
And the weeknd has more monthly listeners by a lot.. so what?
Listen bro I love them and enjoy both so I don't care either way but monthly listeners isn't the best measurement because Drake still out streams him annually and he's still the highest selling singles artist by 80 million more units over Abel
I'd say Blinding Lights is his peak but as of right now it seems that most of his star power has faded if you look at how Dawn didn't do as well as AH
Like I wouldn't even put Abel in the same category as Bad Bunny much less Drake globally... and that's ok Abel doesn't have to be the biggest
He didn’t stream more day 1 though
Drake did 58.7m on Spotify US and BB did 32.5m
It’s still weird seeing that album be #4 in the biggest Spotify debuts ever and it’s the only album on the list to barely clear 200K first week
What numbers are you looking at Bad Bunny was nowhere near top 5 he did like 32.5 million.

Global totals for what?
Everything over 200k for Nadie Sabe is great. Perro Negro already shows perfectly that his reggaeton album next year will be a problem
Latinas in the US went crazy for UVST last year, it was their anthem. They wont really care about this one. He knows this because he already said he doesn't care about the numbers for this one tho
Everyone knows this fam
No use battling this out. Bad Bunny the only nigga in the world pulling 200k on foreign trap

Taylor don’t need explanation, Travis highest selling rapper this year ✍🏽

Travis highest selling bundling with underwear and body deodorant?

He had the biggest album in the US last year

Midnights was released in late October, Dangerous was like 2 years old at that point, and the harry styles album was mostly a dud aside from the big hit single...this isnt as good as you think it is

He literally had two massive hits and a minor hit this year
While touring the world. Exactly one week ago I was seeing him perform for a crowd of 60k people here
The most delusional thing here on KTT is the idea that Abel is underperforming now and no one cares about him and that the After Hours era was just a fluke, just because Gunna outsold him in the US almost two years ago
People are straight up obsessed with that specific week, it's almost lore of this thread 😭

Everyone who needs to boost stats can do them lol
The streaming numbers don’t lie
Over 200 million more streams for Drake
Lmk if you need the math broken down

I’m talking outside of the USA bro, especially Europe. The weeknd is a bigger act here, look at global sales & his stadium tour numbers. Radio play etc.
I live in Holland and they do not even play rap here on the radio.
They play pop 99% of the time I would even go that far and say ed Sheeran is more know here in Holland than Drake.
Of course Drake is a bigger star in the USA but in Europe the weeknd is more well known by casual listeners.
And I’m also a fan of both but Drake stans act like their papi is Micheal Jackson when he is not.

No one in my family knows Drake, but they all know the weeknd that alone says enough. These people think usa is the only important country in the world lol
Drake had 2 hits in Europe one dance and hold on we’re going home.

This in no way correlates to him being “bigger” in the US.
Drake just washed him streaming wise and has 4 of the top 5 biggest streaming weeks ever in the US.
Drake is about to set a tour record in only 25 shows, meanwhile Travis Scott’s tickets are on clearance

Plus, if we are talking just Hip Hop, Eminem is still more popular than Travis also

And drake outstreaming weeknd on Spotify
@thegreatdivine
You know what would cause 73K less sales if the opening day streams were exactly the same? Are streams really weighted that less now?
You're only considering Spotify Global numbers when you should be looking at the US numbers. Bad Bunny's album had a full day and still debuted with ~26M fewer US streams on Spotify than Drake's album, which was released 6 hours late. His album also isn't outdoing Drake's album on US Apple Music in week 2. Drake still has 4 songs in the top 10, 8 in the top 20 and 16 in the top 30 and I bet Drake's songs will start rising back up by Monday, if not earlier. That's it.
Basically, Bad Bunny's album isn't doing a lot of damage on streaming in the US and that's the reason for the lower numbers. His projects may rise or fall, depending on how his album performs throughout the rest of the tracking week.
