When will y’all learn to stop comparing first week numbers of pop artists and rap artists?
Of course Drake sold more with HNVM, he’s the most streamed artist in America. That’s not the “gotcha” fact you think it is.
Weeknd is still, as of this current moment, the bigger artist overseas and outside of the USA
Yall got any numbers that show Weeknd is bigger than Drake outside of the US? @Lefkok @shaleirose

It is the gotcha I think it is because buddy literally said in his post “weeknd has more organic hits and more longevity in the USA”
Funny he mentioned organic too because weeknds last big album needed bundles out the ass to do numbers

For the hundredth time, he’s a pop artist now. The numbers game in pop vs. rap are two totally different ballgames.
And he does have more organic hits and more longevity in the USA. Die For You organically rose to #7 on the Hot 100 this year, before any remix with Ariana came out.
On the 2022 Billboard Hot 100 Year End Chart, Save Your Tears came in #40, an entire two years after the album it’s on came out, and an entire year and a half after the remix came out. Drake hasn’t had a single that lasted that long on the charts since 2018

5 of these Weeknd songs came out 2+ years before 2022. All three of the Drake songs released during 2022.
I think that’s more than enough evidence to prove that nowadays, Weeknd’s singles have a lot more staying power on the charts.
But again, part of that is due to the two different genres Weeknd and Drake operate in.
Pop is about the long-term game, and rap is about the initial first week hype
Weeknd is bigger in mainstream America only because he’s a less organic artist
Drake packing him up musically though

They'll tell you the Weeknd is the bigger artist globally but they won't post the numbers to back it up.
Drake is bigger on Spotify/Apple Music, even if you take away his streams from features.
Drake is the bigger artist in the US.
The one true verified source we have for global figures, the IFPI, has been releasing lists of the top 10 biggest artists globally since 2013 and the Weeknd has never ranked higher than Drake, even in 2020 when he released his biggest album and scored his biggest hit ever.

So it wasn't true what yall were saying, Drake is bigger worldwide.

Go through the OP of the thread I linked to. Abel had his biggest year ever as an artist in 2020 and Drake was still ranked higher than him globally that year
Have y’all ever considered that the IFPI is including US figures into their global stats, which is why Drake still is above Weeknd because he’s that much bigger than everyone else in the US?

They asked you to post evidence that Abel is bigger than Drake globally and you're posting Billboard Year-End stats, when the Billboard Hot 100 is a US-based chart lol.

Context has never introduced itself to you has it
They asked you to post evidence that Abel is bigger than Drake globally and you're posting Billboard Year-End stats, when the Billboard Hot 100 is a US-based chart lol.
That’s the Global 200 Year-End Chart
The context is important because that chart EXCLUDES US sales, the IFPI INCLUDES US sales.
The argument is that Weeknd is bigger everywhere else in the world than Drake besides North America.
Drake still ranks higher than him on the IFPI Chart because he’s that much bigger than everybody else in North America
They asked you to post evidence that Abel is bigger than Drake globally and you're posting Billboard Year-End stats, when the Billboard Hot 100 is a US-based chart lol.
This is from the global chart.
