Even at a discount, that’s $5 per for the artist with each sale.

With a stream equivalent sale, they’re making literal pennies

I'm not arguing with it means to the artist

BB having to cap digital sales at 4 per card purchase just lets me know the support aint just out of fan love

Idk if anyone has said that he'd sell more pure than Travis does. I don't think he could inspire his fanbase to do all that just to run up the numbers (hard to do when you're already on top). But I do think he could still do 150k-200k pure from digital, bundles, and physicals

Someone said he’d do a million plus first week with bundles. Meaning that he’d be doing around 400-500K from bundles alone. Which is absolutely ridiculous

What do you mean by that second sentence?

Aren't digital sales capped at 4 per transaction?
Or I'm thinking about old rules?

I believe that the numbers are the numbers and whatever Billboard verified and reported is what actually sold.

If you’re gonna question these numbers then we should question every #1 every single week of the chart

Billboard number's definitely accurate imo. They threw out meltdown's thursday itunes sale because the travis discord is ran by travis team and they are "incentivized purchases"

They also heavily incentivized purchases for the First Edition album & said they're giving priority access to the tour for whoever buys it lol

they probably just care less about the album chart tbh

And another thing you guys might wanna consider here: Drake isn’t just big on streaming. With everyone else, it’s as simple as “streaming is the dominant form of music consumption therefore x artist is gonna be huge on streaming platforms with new music people enjoy”

Streaming itself is a part of the legacy of Drake and vice versa

Yeah that's too much. I think he'd do around or a little lower than Beyonce in that regard. The two of them move pretty similarly when it comes to selling s*** to their fans

A stan/hardcore fan is anyone who has a deep, sustained interest in something or someone. It doesn't mean they have to act like brainless zombies wherever that person or thing is concerned, it just means they care enough to always show support for that person/thing.

If you've listened to Drake's music for 15+ years consistently, you're a stan, especially if you also consistently discuss things that concern him online and in your real life.

Y'all are admitting to listening to this man's music for over a decade and are in his forum talking about him all day and are still saying ''oh, but I don't consider myself a stan.'' Yeah, right

Y'all are like all the ''Drake haters'' online who use their fake hate tweets as a way to keep talking about him and then act surprised when he's the artist they spent the entire year listening to the most on their Apple Music/Spotify Wrapped

This is just blatantly incorrect Like the term comes from the Eminem song about an obsessed fan who killed himself and his pregnant girlfriend

Again thegreatdivine saying it with her chest when she really doesn't know s***. Just like when she confidently told people they were wrong about Naomi Sharon being signed to OVO, only for it to be announced a few days later

There would be a novelty factor of Drake doing bundles for the first time and I’m sure that would make his numbers way more than any of us could predict tbh

Stan literally means an obsessed, crazed fan who borderline worships a celebrity and she’s in here saying that’s not what it means

This Nocta Tech Fleece line + that 6 Nike collab from a few years back would easily sell 100s of thousands imo

The problem is that he'd need to hire actual professionals to do all this. OVO is incompetent and incapable of managing a rollout at the scale an artist on Drake's level deserves. All they know how to do is rent billboards

Do you really think Trav has a lot of those people though? Everything iv seen of his fans just seem like they get manipulated by his team easily, ive just seen the discord screenshots and it's literally just kids being completely exploited by a smart marketing team.

just seems like theres a huge difference between a Trav stan and a Nicki/Beyonce stan. Trav stans seems like it's more social pressure but Nicki/Beyonce are like actual personal obsession

He dominates Apple Music like pop acts do radio. I don't use the app, but i'd imagine it'd be a challenge to use playlists/algo features and not come across a Drake song

Lmfao so because Drake doesn't like to do rollouts that means his team is incompetent?

It’s hilarious how we’re so far removed from that original song that Stan is just used by people in a positive way now without realizing where it came from

The term Stan came from an Eminem song about a crazed/obsessed fan named Stan who killed his pregnant gf over some Eminem.

Even though the show "Swarm" was overall missed potential, it nailed the idea of a Stan.

Anybody that knows what Drake ate for dinner, who he's dating, and they listen to nothing but his music etc, that person is a Stan.

If anybody does that and they never liked him, that's just weirdo s***.
