Man J Cole's recent album The Fall Off was streamed 2-3x more than Beyonce's and that has 10x more intricate songwriting than her album. That's a s*** excuse
narrator voice: the fall off hasn't come out yet
You’re the one that said a couple hours ago that Lil Baby is bigger than Beyoncé
Nobody’s discrediting him, you just invited him open to criticism by saying he’s bigger than BEYONCÉ of all people
Yeah I even said, bigger to me = hotter, but to you guys it's more about legacy
Renaissance is Beyoncé's most successful era overall since 2008-10 btw
Consistent streams, pop radio playing her songs again, #1 single (Break My Soul), longest charting single (Cuff It), good album sales, other popular songs (Heated, Alien Superstar, America Has A Problem), stadium tour, bigger global reach than Self-titled and Lemonade

Rap dominates streaming plus Cole has been very active during the streaming era, not hard to understand that

Must be hard for him cause he didn't even say the right album

He could’ve said anybody else and it would’ve been a legitimate discussion but he chose the biggest fish in the pond lmao

maybe @mangotflu from the future and baby dropped a project immediately that made him a touring superstar

You know you just proved my point with not only your example of J Cole - the most “relatable” guy out there - but “has 10x more intricate songwriting”…right?
Relatable and thoughtful songwriting from big artists that young people like gets more streams than epic non-relatable dance music by a legacy act
Rap dominates streaming plus Cole has been very active during the streaming era, not hard to understand that
Not even really true considering Taylor Swift & Olivia Rodrigo's streaming success. In 2018-2019 sure, but not anymore. Like I said Beyonce just hasn't been able to adapt to streaming as well as Taylor
perhaps gauging the true popularity of something is more complex than just looking at raw numbers with a touch of bias

and that's what i'm saying. beyonce's album was basic run of the mill dance music that wasn't relatable. which made it not do as well as it could have. Not to mention her whole image is so unrelatable now, which she does on purpose. Meanwhile Taylor Swift is out there trying her hardest to appear relatable to everyone
then sza came along and dropped a relatable album which has been a lot more successful
and again cos people are twisting what i'm saying cos i'm dragging ur favs lmao
i'll reiterate: Beyonce is definitely bigger than Lil Baby (cos legacy) & touring is the holy grail. But the way a few of you guys look at streaming is weird as hell, I have a feeling it's literally just because you hate Drake fans and wanna just discredit all of that lmao

I can’t speak for everyone else but for me I def know streaming is a good indicator for which song is popular but it ain't the end all be all you feel me? That was my disagreement

Beyoncé’s album was a ballroom homage dance revival project, complete with intricate production, insane melodies, harmonies the whole nine yards, it was anything but basic chief
SZA’s album was accessible, straightforward thot&b
Man can we have numbers talk. This current one is boring asf

spotify monthly listeners has never been a good guage of an artist's dominance

Morgan Wallen has sold more units than every rapper combined this year
so has Taylor I think

Morgan’s album is 36 songs long lmao, also it’s not just Apple Music Morgan dominating Amazon music too

EXACTLY (apart from the run of the mill part cause Renaissance is a masterwork of production and composition but agree to disagree). Which all goes back to the point that what does incredibly well on streaming is less suited to Renaissance than the music that does do incredibly well
