Doesn't mean she still won't flop. In the streaming era, debut weeks aren't nearly as important as they used to be. People just make a big deal about it because that's when all the headlines about the performance of the album gets written but a solid debut doesn't mean your album will be a success overall. If your debut is boosted mainly by pure sales, chances are within a few weeks, your album will be out of the top 100, if not out of the top 200 altogether.
Streaming and longevity is what determines true success in the streaming era. Taylor Swift has the two biggest album debuts so far this decade but Morgan's Wallen's two albums released this decade will outperform both of them in every metric because of their insane stability/longevity due to streaming.
yea i agree but most non "nerds" seem to only care about first week still, which is pretty annoying lol
that and that god awful spotify monthly listeners stat
Am I tripping or is Apple Music becoming bigger in Japan too? Like I’m looking at the global charts and I see wayy more Japanese songs then I use too
5 of Future's 6 biggest Hot 100 hits are with Drake
I better not see anybody disrespect Drake when it comes to all he's done for Future's career EVER AGAIN. This isn't even mentioning the fact that Future's biggest tour/album are still the Summer Sixteen Tour WITH DRAKE and WATTBA WITH DRAKE. His biggest first week sales? WITH DRAKE.
Now y'all know why Future's runs to Drake whenever he needs a hit lmao.
ed sheeran is the weirdest artist to me

Look how badly he's doing in the UK on spotify, 2 songs in the top 20 with his new album lol, no one cares. Divide was 6 years ago at this point but it seems he has fallen off in popularity extremely quickly
this is tyler the creator's last album - charts.spotify.com/charts/view/regional-gb-daily/2021-06-25 he isnt even british but still outperformed Ed lol
meanwhile Harry (7.8m v Ed's 1.43m lmao, even with ed having 5 more tracks) charts.spotify.com/charts/view/regional-gb-daily/2022-05-20

His fall had a lot to do with the time he took off after Divide. He didn’t ride the high (in terms of album/song releases) strong enough.
His tour sales following Divide (that one tour I mean) is still the highest grossing OF ALL TIME.
But in terms of album sales afterwards, he’s struggling for sure.

Yea also I think his music wasn’t as unique enough as an adele to where he could survive a long break like that

I feel like this album was mostly meant to beat the “garbage rapper who doesn’t care about the music he makes” allegations and it succeeded at that even if it is like a 6 at best. Whether he’s here to stay will depend on his next commercial project imo
