morgan doing 150k+ in his 8th(?) week whilst his other album is doing 47k lmao

gotta be the biggest streaming artist in the US of all time at this point

I think Taylor is #1 at least on Spotify. I'm not following her and Morgan's numbers on Apple

SEVENTEEN, HARLOW, ARMADO LEAD NEW RELEASES

Pledis/Geffen's SEVENTEEN leads this week's crop of new releases, with FML: the 10th mini album on pace for a bow north of 100k.

Range's Jack Harlow and DEL/Ingrooves' Eslabon Armado, who surprised fans with new albums, are in the mix for top debuts.

    SEVENTEEN(Pledis/Geffen) 130-140k
    Jack Harlow (Generation Now/Atlantic) 45-50k
    Eslabon Armado (DEL/Ingrooves) 40-45k

We don't have a particular favorite among the 13 members of SEVENTEEN, but Joshua sounds like a nice fella.

The Jack Pack need to know; is that reaching expectations, or did the change in sound and surprise drop nature hurt the projections?

Harlow numbers are good. No singles, 24 minutes long, and no obvious commercial songs. No features either

Exactly. I think the next album should come relatively soon but this project did exactly what it needed to in terms of resetting his career arc

I think he can wait till next year to drop his next album. He dropped an album last year and one this year. There's no rush. He can enjoy the good reception of this album, plus he's got a movie coming out soon. If I were him, I'd spend the rest of the year doing features to keep the momentum going and maybe drop the lead single off the next album at the tail end of the year or early next year.

Really? Who outdid him in terms of album streams? I can't think of anyone. I looked at Midnights and Taylor wasn't doing these type of numbers

Bad Bunny didn't with his last, Drake didn't with Scorpion. In fact Scorpion "only" did 92k in its 9th week. This Morgan album is doing 150k

Plus in Scorpion's 8th week Drake had no other album sell above 11k. Morgan has his recent selling 150k and his 3 year old one selling 50k. That is serious lol, altho it's weird cause it seems the vast majority of his streams are on AM

this is gonna start some convos that i'm sure @thegreatdivine wil love lol

I know on the outside it looks very impressive but when you consider the average album length is 14-18 tracks Morgan's sales make more sense. His albums are 33 and 36 songs long. That's essentially 2 albums worth of material. I'm not trying to downplay his achievement but when no other artists is doing that many tracks it's hardly a fair comparison. That's a huge factor in why he can keep up with the big 3 Taylor, Drake and Bad Bunny

I'm just trying to explain the logistics. Also Taylor is the most streamed US artist this year. If you have a Twitter account follow @spotify_data if you're curious. He always posts the statistics and every month this year she's been #1 and will probably end the year at that. Morgan isn't close to her so I assume his numbers are coming from Apple Music and his singles sales. Morgan seems to have a daily average of 20 million vs Taylor's 70 million

I've been keeping an eye on this and Un Verano Sin Ti has given him a huge boost but Drake's still maintaining a 5-6 billion lead. The closest gap was when Bunny had 53 billion and Drake had 57 but it's fluctuated since then. He's only predicted at the current projection but who knows what can happen to either of their careers. UVST could've been his Scorpion era and he might never recapture that hype again. I put more stock in Drake's longevity

I get your point but I still think it's a fair comparision, when Scorpion was in its 8th week Views was only 2 years old and wasn't doing more than 10k a week with 20 tracks. Whilst Morgan's 2 year old album is doing 50k still with 30 tracks

honestly tho I've never understood the album tracks argument. Even when people were s***ting on Drake for this back in 2018 I always felt it's weird cause people aren't gonna listen to an album 2x more just cause there's 2x more tracks

there's definitely some weird s*** going on with AM because I find it hard to believe that 70-80% of his streams are on there whilst for Taylor it looks more like 30-40%

Drake just doesn't seem to care about numbers much anymore so it seems inevitable, Bad Bunny just released another giant hit this month so it seems like he isn't slowing down anytime soon

Bad Bunny is up 24b in the last 12 months whilst Drake is "only" 16b with Drake dropping 2 albums and Bad Bunny 1. i bet the gap on AM is insane between drake and everyone else tho

Boy, stop. Morgan Wallen is still yet to outstream Drake's catalog in a calendar year. Drake has been the most streamed artist in the US every year from 2015-2022 (with the exception of 2019 when Post Malone outdid him by a tiny margin).

Morgan has 3 albums out and while they're pulling massive streams every week, Drake could drop an album this year and still beat him because Drake's catalog streams are more than Morgan's.

There'll be no conversation to be had. Drake is still by far the most streamed artist globally across all platforms and if Bad Bunny/Taylor Swift overtake him on one platform, that's okay. He's been the biggest streaming artist since 2015. If they overtake him in 2025, that'd mean he held the title for 10 years. Don't know how you can spin that in any way but impressive.
