I see so many men on social media getting excited about the SZA album. What is it about her that specifically straight men connect with so much? Even Beyoncé doesn’t get support like this.

Drake has always been bigger than Kendrick lol. Even the year Kendrick had the bigger first week, with context, it's easier to see that Drake was bigger that year because Drake dropped twice in 2015 (Kendrick dropped once), dropped again in 2016 (and had the biggest album/single that year) and dropped again in 2017 but with only 5 tracking days, which is the only reason why Kendrick managed to have a bigger first week). Not to mention Drake dropping again in 2018 and completely dominating the entire year.

But DAMN was the first time Kendrick matched up to Drake in any way commercially so when it was time for Kendrick's follow-up album, they were running with ideas of him doing higher numbers than CLB while abandoning all logic to understand why that wouldn't be happening. Like, there were Kendrick fans talking down on CLB's numbers the week it dropped saying "Drake only did 600k, Kendrick will beat that easily with his next album". How quickly they got humbled lol.

Drake fans being proud of his numbers doesn't mean any other artist is being dragged but of course they'll see it that way because Drake fans shouldn't celebrate/acknowledge his success at all lmao.

They’re comparing an album that’s completely different than ctrl. That’s what makes it special. This is unfiltered, beautiful and all over the place just like SZA. I’m happy for SZA. I’m happy for us because it was worth the wait.

Thank god it’s a success but even if it flopped I would respect it because there’s nothing better than being true to yourself and expressing yourself without restraints. SZA shouldn’t have to compromise to please fickle listeners and critics anyways. Let our queen do her thing ❤️
