plus the leftover hype from 2018

You're only looking at hits. Did he score bigger hits than Taylor Swift in 2019? Yes. Taylor Swift hasn't scored a real hit since like 2017. The difference is that Taylor's catalog is insane. Post has a really great catalog too but it only covers 3 albums. That's where Taylor outdoes him.

Eminem in the top 10 global artists basically yearly without having dropped anything worth listening to in like 10 years. True timeless music

The point is that he's been dropping and his s*** stays going Platinum. You might not be listening to his music anymore but his fans are.

The secret to long-term success is having a catalog with great recurrent stats. As it stands, the artist with the #1 catalog right now is Drake, followed by Taylor Swift. Those 2 can go 3 years without dropping anything and they'll still have a spot in the top 5 most consumed artists EASILY and they're only adding to their respective catalogs. More to that, they were the biggest male/female acts of the last decade and have managed to carry that momentum into this decade as well.

Not arguing that but to dismiss the music he's been dropping to praise his catalog is silly. Eminem has been one of the most active artists of the last 5 years.
    Revival (2017)
    Kamikaze (2018)
    MTBMB Side A (January 2020, 20 tracks)
    MTBMB Side B (December 2020, 16 tracks)

Yes and that's only because it has all his biggest hits. Everything from the Slim Shady LP down to even MTBMB has very poor recurrent stats. His most recent albums do well for a year or two and die off but they still add to his numbers in the respective years they drop.

Of course it is. It's a greatest hits album. It's the same reason why The Highlights (the Weeknd's greatest hits album) is outdoing every other album by the Weeknd.

He's talking s*** but can't put up anything to back it up lol.

You tried to pass those numbers above off like they don’t include Drake’s back catalog lol. I already told u, outstreamed on Spotify, more number ones, more units sold.

Nah the Drake stans told me that he makes 20+ track albums to give us fans more music. It's not about the streams.

Drake stans also told you that how Drake labels his work matters, that's why More Life sales can't be compared to DAMN and why DLDT didn't put up crazy numbers. Now they're telling you Drake's seventh studio album was a side project

It's whatever narrative suits them at the time, confessions of a coping mind

Year-end numbers always include numbers from your back catalog.

Obviously Drake is gonna sell more than a guy who debuted in 2016. I thought it was clear I meant the drops from those years

Just get the numbers from the individual albums
