If you understand this then why have you been using Spotify numbers to insist the album has been flopping and saying it should have been performing on par with how Drake's music usually does? Isn't that because you believe anything Drake drops should be successful? I'm confused.

I posted that it’s flopping because it’s flopping. You’ve agreed that it’s a flop 20x in this thread. I don’t get what you’re saying here.

It's just amazing to me that some of you really believe that ANY kind of music Drake releases should automatically be successful, simply because it was released by Drake and I don't know if y'all are choosing to be that stupid to troll and to go at Drake fans or if y'all are really just that stupid.

Why was this logic not used when Kendrick or weekend dropped?

Nah let's be real. People said that anything that kendrick dropped should of been successful just off how big of an artist he is, regardless how the album is and that his album not doing as expected was indicator of it not connecting.

Same should apply for drake no ?

No, people mocked the performance of Kendrick's album mostly because of the time he took away, his brags about rappers burning their hard drives, him smoking on top 5s and the general expectation his own fans had for whatever he returned with. People were really expecting dude to do 700k-1m with whatever he came with. That's the whole reason why I originally made this thread: I was trying to let people understand that thinking that way was setting dude up to fail because there'd be no way he'd be doing that. Anyone with any knowledge of how different the time in music in 2022 is in comparison to 2017, would have understood that. My OG projections for Kendrick were 350k and if not that fans didn't really f*** with the album, he'd have done around that.

When I heard Kendrick's album, not only did I know it wasn't for me, but I knew most of the fans he'd gotten from the DAMN. era wouldn't f*** with the album. My point was always that whenever an artist releases music their fans don't care for, those fans won't support said music, hence, said music will flop. That's always been my point. It's tons of mid music that's successful but the point is that the music is successful because enough people think it's good enough to support it. You really can't dispite that.

Show me where I acted shocked HN wasn’t performing better. I was posting Spotify streams because y’all were circlejerking those daily for MM&TBS.

And the only comparison I made was to We Cry Together. And yes, it is quite shocking that steaming pile of trash outstreamed almost every song on Drake’s album. Every song on HN is at least 1000x better and more listenable than We Cry Together.

You've been doing all you've been doing in here to troll Drake stans. Stand by that, stop trying to now act like you were harmlessly surprised an album you claim to understand wouldn't do well, wasn't doing well. How does that make any sense?

If I know an album by artist A won't perform well, why would I act shocked when it doesn't perform well? Make it make sense to me, please.

Man, stop. Why are you lying like you haven't been in here acting surprised that a Drake dance album wasn't performing better than a Kendrick rap album? What are you doing?

How does him telling rappers to burn their hard drives and that he was smoking on top 5 correlate to sales. You bringing up his fans as a reason to dunk on the sales of the album but i saw the honesty nevermind sales prediction threads and they were just as delusional lol it's almost as if stans don't think rationally when they talk about their favorite artists... you should know lol

I was posting sales numbers in the sales thread which you did daily for MM&TBS and then abruptly stopped for Drake.

Of course I was doing it because Drake Stans have been doing it for every other album and making multiple threads outside of even this one to clown the sales. The precedent was set. Don’t make me link the dozens of daily threads about Kendrick flopping every time new numbers came out for MM&TBS. It’s unreasonable to take issue with it when it comes back around.

If HN was selling 600K, you would have continued to be posting numbers daily as always.

Kendrick dropped a rap album with at least 4 songs with enough potential to do well on the charts but they didn't for whatever reason. The Weeknd dropped an album that was an extension of the sound he ran with on most of the After Hours album. It had just as many catchy songs that should have worked as singles but they didn't for some reason.

I posted the first and second day Spotify numbers. I posted US Apple Music positions in days 1-5. I did post. Y'all were trolling so hard and doing the most and y'all didn't care that I was posting. Y'all just wanted to troll and so I left for y'all to continue and went where actual discussions could be had.

Y'all wanted to make me mad and were doing the most because I was 20 minutes late to updating the thread title, claiming I didn't do so because it was Drake and mentioning every mod to change me as OP.

Yall are just f***ing weirdos obsessed with me and doing even way worse than the Drake stans y'all claim did the most. It's all so funny.

    Carry on, though.

General public has no frame of reference for Drake making straight up house music for an entire album. Passionfruit is the closest to that, and that’s just one song that’s far removed enough from House for the untrained ear to not even hear house when they listen to it

It was always obvious that Honestly Nevermind would never perform crazy. But that’s dope in its own way cause it was clear that Drake truly didn’t care about that this time. Which is refreshing to see from such a huge artist that so many types of people in the public expect certain type of music from

That first paragraph is true but what I'm saying is also true cause I literally saw many posters saying kendrick album should of been successful during the first week no matter what, experimental or not cause he's a huge artist with a lot of hype lol.
