All I’m saying is that given Drake’s global popularity, it’s a lot easier for him to craft a chart topping dance song than pretty much any other artist. It’s not like all dance songs ever automatically flop because nobody likes dance. He just didn’t make anything that the public likes that much.

Closer (Chainsmokers) spent 26 weeks in the billboard top 5. Dance songs can certainly be massive hits, Drake just wasn’t able to do it.

I mean I’m not trying to Stan the chainsmokers. It was just an example of a big dance hit. More recently, Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande debuted #1 with Rain on Me in 2020.

Rain On Me used bundles to manage that #1 debut and it only spent 4 weeks in the top 10. Also, Laga Gaga has historically always made dance music. That's the sound her fanbase is used to so they had no issues supporting that.
