    Impossible when Grippy exists.

Every rapper in their class considers Kendrick to be the best. Being a contrarian ain’t gonna get you nowhere in life

The best overall artist, but so was Kanye in his day. That doesn't come into play when we talking the best wit the pen.

You on a hip hop forum you should kno the difference.

Kendrick does one decent technical verse every now and then and for every 1 he has like 5 that are weak.

And nah, diss tracks aren’t even the same as dropping a song or a freestyle. Cole has had more quotables than Kendrick over the past 5 years. Bars are actually the weakest thing Kendrick has. Barely any even early in his career.

Kendrick got more quotables in not like us alone than j Cole’s entire career

So quote some of these great Cole bars

The best bar I’ve heard from him in the last 5 years was the no mc equal line on Johnny Ps caddy

I also liked that draft king bar on port Antonio but for every good Cole bar there’s like 7 terrible ones

“Back in the town where they whippin’ work and traffickin’ pounds
My jack jumpin’ ‘bout a rapper makin’ blasphemous sounds”

    1.whip(car) and traffic
    2. people rather move d****(traffickin’ pounds) than
    work(whippin’ work)
3.Traffickin’ pounds(traffic impound) at a traffic stop your car can be impound for d****
    4. Slave trafficking/slavery (whippin work and tratticking)
5.whippin’ work (whip and work), meaning either whip in to shape/work out or to whip in(get in) some work to lose weight (trafficking pounds)

    Next line
“My Jack jumpin’ ‘bout a rapper makin’ blasphemous sounds”
1.Jack jumpin’( jumping jacks, connecting it with the previous line about weight loss)
    2. My jack jumping meaning he’s read to fire back at the blasphemous sounds (the diss)
    3. Kendrick moans throughout his verse in “like that” (blasphemous sounds)
    4. cole calls himself a god in comparison to kendrick earlier on this track, to disrespect a god is blasphemy by definition, so Kendrick’s diss is a
    “blasphemous sound”
    5. “My jack jumpin’ (mike jack jumping) bout a rapper making blasphemous sounds” Michael Jackson is regarded as the king of pop, and kendrick disrespected him on his verse on like that, so mike is jumping out his grave over the disrespect"

Even if you not fw Cole I don't get why do many ppl disrespect his pen

The thing is Kendrick doesn’t do a lot of bar heavy raps but when he does it hits as we saw with the beef. Cole attempts more bar heavy songs way more than Kendrick but ends up missing a lot

NLU obviously isn't some masterclass in lyricism but the energy and flows are great. It also has more quotable lines than every song Coles done in the last 5 years combined, Objectively

I’m not saying Coles a bad rapper by any means, I’m not even saying Kendrick’s better. I just think it’s a little ridiculous the way y’all act like Cole is the greatest to ever touch a pen

I’ll always give J cole his credit as a rapper and lyricist. Where I personally think he falls short compared to Kendrick and Drake is his ability to make records that aren’t just him barring out

I feel Cole is a great technical rapper but the two things that I think separate him from Kendrick and Drake…Drake in his prime has an iconic cult of personality that makes him a giant and a knew how to communicate this in different ways. Kendrick has better thought out themes and narrative styles to me that make an album work better.

So I’ve never found Cole as interesting as the other two. But I won’t deny that he can bar out at higher levels but not necessarily all the time.

It’s not erased but it’s stained

Hardly a stain in the grand scheme. His talent, skill and past body of work hasn't changed in the slightest, ghostwriting is a stain

I mean his entire catalog before off season wasnt really barring out, had a ton of radio records but I get what you saying

Coles weakness to me is his album game. But Kendrick really beats everyone in that category for the most part
