I mean.. he kinda made a mistake cuz he clearly thought this song was gonna finish Kendrick by the way he framed it with the "ya dead " s*** at the end and Dot stepped on it immediately with 2 songs focused on him lol

Family Matters was fire but even when the s*** initially dropped we weren't fully convinced that was the red button cuz of how much of it was at other people.

HP6 was the only record focused on Dot and it was clear it was the damage control song tbh

I kinda disagree with this. I feel like Meek was still hot for a few years after this. At least until 2019/2020. Maybe going to jail for some bullshit probation thing gave him a boost but he still made at least 3 good projects after Back to Back

I literally said in that post that Family Matters was fire. I'm giving Drake his props cuz he rapped really well on it, how is this me being biased.

i don’t think back to back is the better song but it absolutely is the better diss track

let’s examine every diss he threw kendrick’s direction and you’ll see how bad it is:

• doesn’t have a set - false, fell flat
• the game, yg and chris brown have sets - one of these guys stood by kendrick another guy is an out of towner being extorted, fell flat
• doesn’t plant money trees in compton - blatantly false, fell flat
• wifing a mixed woman, cheated on her with white women while portraying yourself as pro-black - things kendrick addressed himself long before this beef even happened on complexion and worldwide steppers + whitney isn’t even mixed lol
• your son is actually dave free’s child - made up nonsense that nobody believes besides drake fanatics, fell flat
• you get a lot of awards and critical acclaim - funny delivery but shows how insecure he is about not being recognized in the same way

Ok but he called for the iso on Euphoria, 6:16 in LA, Meet The Grahams. Like each track he was like no nigga it's you and me.

My point is that FM backfired cuz on the track that was supposed to be the nuke, he dedicated a whole section to everybody instead of the main one whoopin on him. And in turn, that made it easy for the song to get overshadowed

No one thought Rocky and Ross were dropping ethers, everybody thought Dot was on his head with Euphoria and 6:!6 though.
