Just listened to mbdtf after jik and it made me hella sad. Every song on mbdtf is 10x more developed than even the best song on jik. You guys think kanye is capable of this level of work ever again or are we stuck with 20 minute 7/10 albums for the rest of his career?

Honestly the biggest problem with the last 2 albums is the length. Im not sure whats with all of these 2 minute songs. You cant fully explore the potential of a track in under 2 minutes. Kanye’s best songs tend to be the longer ones where he gets every last drop of potential out of it

The whole 2018 era had this 7-songs shtick, so I can't really blame Ye for shortness, as it also was written in two weeks, so it definitely had zero chance to be full of Runaway, We Majors etc.
I think that right now he is either lazy or likes minimalism or both.Like he enjoys to reduce stuff even more then to produce it.

KSG had a skit with woman saying how you only need 3 minutes to convey an idea in music.

In my opinion, he does it because he thinks that it is a very artistic thing to do, to leave a listener wanting for more even if the product is already mediocre. Also I don't think that he feels as personally connected to the song as he was before, like making song about plastic surgery then rearranging it into song about god. it just seems very comedic and unserious thing for me.

It sucks bro i just dont think he has the time to genuinely make a great album anymore
