I wish he still had more 'musichead' or 'indiehead' moments like this. I don't think he stopped considering these people great but he really just moved on. When's the last time we saw this ye? When he used the my bloody valentine shirt?
Totally forgot about this

he had plenty of those moments throughout his career but the last few years have been a Homecoming for Ye and it shows more purely who Ye is than just a reflection of who he's influenced by at the time
it would require him having people with those tastes around more often, cause since 2017 it seems he's reconnected with his roots and what he's always loved in music in Rap/R&B/Gospel

kanye has goated taste

blood on the leaves would have been the craziest album opener of all time
on sight works better if you look at the album as a whole, but imagine your first listen of yeezus kicking off with BOTL
alright man, I just don't think he's always thinking about Fiona Apple or Radiohead
he continues to be more moved and influenced by Hip Hop/R&B and its the music thats stood the test of time for him no matter what influences have come in and out of his life for what are ultimately moments
lol it wasn't ever that "he's always thinking of Fiona Apple" it's that he's a fan, which you oddly keep denying and reducing a 7 year span as "ultimately moments"
lol and he was literally working on a rock album with the mars volta recently so there's 0 reason to think he's turned away from these genres
The whole kanye waiting to drop with drake angle I keep seeing on social media isn’t true and it’s starting to get annoying

he wasn't working on an album, it was copium
the tweet if formatted correclty would've been:
Listening to The Mars Volta. We need to finish the DONDA album.
it's funny cause the album was only like 30 percent finished by july 24 2020. there was no way he could have dropped it before september.

if I had to include those songs all falls down and runaway would be up there for sure. monster too tbh, that song is lowkey underrated outside of the nicki verse
