I grew up around people who never will hold this opinion so my perspective is just different on Hov

Maybe I’d feel different if I was raised differently by people who weren’t such Hov stans but I’ll say this, Jay never was consistent in a row with his classic albums but they have the same amount to me genuinely

    5 a piece

Kendrick got 5 classics in a row, Drake had 5 classics, does this make them on the same level to you? Consistency is very important. Kanye had 6 albums straight of pure excellence with each sounding completely different from the other. Hov is just the better rapper

I mean brah he’s the only rapper compared to Michael

Comparison is cool, I agree with the comparison even

But its not 1:1 everybody is judged on their own.

Ye is f***ing elite, there are just rappers who I genuinely like more. It isn’t coming from a lack of knowledge on Ye too I really love bro, but he legit doesnt speak to me the way Pac Hov or Kendrick does. I’m not saying anyone is wrong for having Ye as their GOAT but i know for sure I know what I like and I really did study all these guys. Im only speaking my personal opinion and what I value

    PRINCED3VILLE

You act like Kendrick just dropped Xanarchy or something lol

There’s nothing insane about someone thinking GNX is better than Yeezus.

    Both albums are acclaimed, successful,
    Impactful and highly regarded….

It’s like saying The Blueprint is better than Me Against The World and it ain’t even close lol.

Theyre both highly regarded and highly respected so it’s a fair argument lol.

Bro I love GNX but like cmon let’s be real

Like I am a god is literally man at the garden on steroids 😭😭😭😭😭 what tf are we talking about bro what has gotten into the water this isn’t even top 2 Kendrick albums

Thats fair, the album can very much in ye's world but I do think there's some relatble and interesting topics regarding ego/pride, religion and consumerism

For me, relatability doesn't place too highly on what makes an album engaging to me

See relatability is everything to me

Thats what I mean people judge s*** differently

If 2 of my main 3 things is bars and relatability/subject matter then my list will be different personally

i’ll say this, i dont think someone is tripping for having dot and drake on the same level. I honestly rank Drake very high in my all time list like 6/7

All Im saying is I hate when people act like Ye has to be the GOAT of that makes sense, like I dont think its wromg to have Ye as the GOAT but I just dont personally feel that way

Yeezus was dope but it wasnt excellent to ME , the era was excellent but the album itself was dope but idk it doesnt speak to me. I feel like I get it for you because you’re passionate about a lot of the same s*** as Ye but u gotta see it from my perspective all I care about is rap and my folks, an album like yeezus isnt gonma hit the exact same for me even tho on some music s*** I can appreciate it

I do love Ye but honestly his first 3 joints is my favorite s*** from him those are some of my fav albums oay

  • Mar 14, 2025

Like Im basically just saying we gotta factor perspective

If I relate to Kendrick whole heartedly but dont relate to most of Ye s*** ofc ima bump Kendrick more

If I bump Kendrick more but say I like Ye more bc thats what Im supposed to say what does that make me?

A b**** ass nigga. I gotta live my truth

  • Mar 14, 2025

Like this might sound weird but I dont listen to rap really for how it sounds

I listen for the lyrics and how that s*** impacts me. Like rap music is mad powerful for me because I really be able to deal with hard s*** in my life based off a nigga saying some real s*** I can relate to. Makes me feel understood in a world that doesn’t understand me, sound can’t really do that and I love sound.

    Yeah Im open to that

Maybe I go through some s*** in my life that makes Yeezus hit more for me bc I can relate. Also Im not tryna make it sound like I dont fw the album

But I never lived in a universe where Ye was just leaps and bounds above certain niggas, like my pops straight up wouldn't allow it nigga used to keep me up at night breaking down Hov verses and s***.

Honestly imo Ye, Pac, Hov and Kendrick are all damn near equal to me but its for different reasons. And then I got Drake/Wayne right below them, and u know how i feel about tyler but lets not even get into that lol

You saying Ye is the GOAT hits way different than a suburban white boy telling me Ye washes Pac & Hov knowing hes never listened to them and only respects rap he views as “artsy” thats the s*** I really hate

Kanye is on one of them. I love Kanye too I like Jay Z a bit more

Vol. 1 is a favorite of mine, it gets a lot of hate because of the Puff song but I love that album. Too many classics on it

Yeah a lot of niggas on this website did not grow up with parents that even listened to rap and weren’t immersed in rap culture at all until they discovered Kanye and expect me to have the same opinions as them

I was raised on hip hop purely , my perspective is gonna be different

S*** my family Caribbean my mom didn’t play hip hop in the crib like that at all lol but my big brother did and on top of that I’m from a community where that’s predominately what you hear. Hip hop, r&b, house music..

I started to realize your exact comment a few years ago when discoursing with people on random corners of the internet. It’s a different life experience fs.

Multiple rappers tried to get an A Milli type song around that time it was kinda nasty lol

Worst example of this wave riding was when niggas was dropping their version of “Black and Yellow” by wiz or when niggas was droppin different “Tupac back” variants.
