They have a heap of footage, confirmed fan support from millions around the world, and immediate attention of the aura surrounding "what could have been"
This gives HBO Max (who needs original content) one of the easiest pushes. They have a mini series now that they can put out like Disney did the Mandalorian, and instead of having to pay $100M for it to film and produce, they just give Snyder 20M to finish whats already been filmed. Its just too convenient and timely for a new service
