Started my MoS rewatch and the Darkseid teaser started playing

Krypton scene one of the best openings in any cape flick.

Yeah I was thinking of how cool it was. It gets better each time you watch it honestly.

The tornado scene itself still bugs me a bit but him choosing not to save his dad thematically fits with Supermans character more than him dying of a heart attack, at least in the context of the movie.

I've bumped the soundtrack before but it wasn't until recently that I found Hans Zimmer Sketchbook for MoS and that s*** bangs

The kryptonian designs from the armor to the weapons to the tech to the vehicles they snapped

I believe so or the versions he came up with before they got fitted to the movie.

Man this film is easily a top 5 best looking superhero movie

Snyder is behind the color grading for the new BvS release

and it also reflects our own society. I love how they didn’t just make it ashore & sweet, within that 15-20 minute opening we get soaked into this weird Kryptonian lore and it feels like it’s own movie but unlike the first Thor movie every theme set up in that world bleeds into the rest of the film.

Pa Kent representing a more cynical view of the world while Jor-El represented a more hopeful one is just too powerful. The fact that Superman tries his best to incorporate both ideologies into his own instead of just blindly leaning into one perspective is what makes him human.

If you lean too much into cynicism or optimism then you just become blind. So throughout both MoS and BvS you see both of Clark’s dad’s ideologies being challenged and it makes for a bipolar experience but that’s the beauty of it. Neither of them are wrong.

Seeing this in IMAX was a godly experience.
