don’t think anybody loves Blade Runner because Tyrell unless you’re trying to compare Wallace to Roy which doesn’t make any sense.
Wallace being a detached weirdo makes perfect sense to me considering that’s exactly how modern tech wizards are today. Leto played the role fine and I’m not even the biggest fan of his, haven’t been ever since he became a “method actor”.
Of course I’m talking about Roy, Tyrell is cool, but Roy is iconic, even tho I get Jared's character ( don’t even remember the name ) he didn’t give us nothing memorable. No character really did.
And BL2049 suffers a lot because of that, I hope Dune is great tho.
I’m glad “Leto is better than Ledger you’re just nostalgic” was never a big thing. Cause that seems to be a thing a lot with these characters being played by different actors
It never had a chance. Leto's joker was terrible. And the film he was in was terrible as well. Ledger's Joker is timeless. Don't think I'd ever see it as nostalgic
He was great in Dallas Buyers Club, that Oscar was deserved
Yeah but remember the role he played...

yeah but Wallace is supposed to be Tyrell’s replacement not Roy’s so I don’t see the point in comparing them.
I think K, Luv, Joi, Sapper, Joshi and Mariette were all pretty memorable.

Leto played off trans stereotypes which brings the performance down for me. He even regrets it.
Also hi theory, I remember you from ktt1. idk what my name was on there. ultra kid, soulo ho3, yay. one of the three

It’s been a while since I’ve seen it, and I feel like it came before the trans movement was as visible as it is today. I think people may look at the role now from our current lens, where trans actors should play trans roles. I’m not familiar with the stereotypes used, I’d probably have to read more on that. But from solely acting, I remember thinking he did a great job. His actual performance, showing the emotion and everything that came with that role, I thought he nailed. It may be controversial now, or even offensive now, but the actual acting- disregard the writing or the politics, just the performance itself- I thought was great. The scene where he starts crying thinking he’s about to die stuck with me years later, that s*** felt genuine.
Also what up from KTT1 my dude

I'd probably say Leto's personality is what separates him with the other two you mentioned. I think those other two are more liked by the public
I mean Shia literally been outing for beating FKA Twig's ass and other weirdo s*** in the past.. I love Pattinson but he literally trolls his way through interviews and a lot of s***, so idk
BR 2049 slander is ok or whatever but I don't get the hate. That whole "her eyes were green" scene was one of my favorite movie moments of 2017 period lol.
Wallace playing God and stabbing that replicant in the throat as Luv struggles to hold back tears was fire.
The fact that the film shows Luv as K's antithesis (her being a replicant that follows orders to her demise while K goes rogue as he grows disillusioned with his superiors) was fire and the way the movie shows the consequences of both their actions was a fire payoff to me.
The fact that JOI's love for K being genuine or part of her programming is left for the viewer to decide is hard.
Or the fact that we still dont know whether Deckard is a human or replicant???
Bringing up Roy Batty as a way to downplay BR 2049 is cool but it don't hold much merit to me cuz he was the most memorable part of Blade Runner period. the other replicant's didn't do much, and Rutger Hauer outshined Harrison Ford. Clearly.
I feel like OG Blade Runner is impactful and the father of the cyberpunk scene when it comes to film, no doubt but BR 2049 has a lot going for it.

Deckard is a replicant
Doesn't get more lame then bringing up an actors personal life scandals to judge their MOVIE PERFORMANCE.
And dismissing Jared Leto performance cuz "omg he's a straight male who played a transgender!" Is just being try hard pc
It’s just my opinion
that's the beauty of it tho. the fact that we're left to decide for ourselves if he is or if he isn't
how good is hbo max anyway? like what kind of content is on there? im gonna sign up for it to watch the movie at least. maybe ill keep it if it has enough content that i like

All their movies on HBO same day as theaters. For the first 31 days and they say only for this year but that may change. No extra cost either
They did that with Wonder Woman, The Little Things and Judas and the Black Messiah so far
Tom and Jerry next week
