The green screen visuals in this actually look pretty interesting and no where as bland and soulless as the one in Whedons version. Every shot legit looks like a cgi painting. S***s on the MCU already

Supposedly Whedon only kept 30 minutes of the 4 hours that Snyder filmed. And Snyder has done reshoots on top of the unseen 3 and a half hours.

extreme Snyder hate only exists on the internet. I think overall there’s more people who casually like his films than don’t. BvS and maybe Sucker Punch were the only ones to be universally panned.

This is true even outside the Snyder stuff. I think people fell in love with the narrative. Like even the "good" DC movies like Shazam/WW/BOP get called "Alright". I guarantee when The Suicide Squad comes out and is good people will say it was only good 'cause they brought in a Marvel director

I didn’t think Shazam was amazing or anything but it was cute. Marvel can release bland mid tier films like Ant Man and still have it be praised as above average.

Birds of Prey was considered terrible by allot of people but it still had a visual style and tone that stood out.

DCU isn’t perfect, they’re not dropping amazing every year but neither is Marvel. There’s clearly a bias.

Homecoming being praised as the definitive Spider Man film was embarrassing. MCU made Peter Parker less relatable if anything and lowered the stakes.

Yeah like i'm not trying to portray DC like they're just throwing out amazing movies but when they do release good movies people try to downplay them

even their non CW tv division gets downplayed. Doom Patrol and the Harley Quin show should be allot more popular than they are.

Agreed with DP, though I blame it more on the DCU stresming service being so niche that literally only people who are comics fans would watch it. I think it's pretty apparent that most of the movie going audience just doesn't give a f*** about style, visuals, themes, symbolism, etc. if you don't create characters the audience can connect to. Snyder fans can hype up the visuals, the allegories in his films, and all the unique traits that he brings and how his take isn't generic but none of that matters.

The consensus is that Marvel is just better at creating relatable characters that you can connect to regardless of how many movies people consider garbage or mid.
