Hate to bring Marvel up, but Thanos in IW was handled design wise in a way that showed how to perfectly translate Darkseid to live action: imposing and comic accurate while being grounded as an actual character rather than a distant monster

Outside of lines of dialogue taken from the comics and the colors, if you look at Thanos’ IW design and personality it seems more like how you would adapt Darkseid rather than Thanos, which is proof they could have captured Darkseid better (then again, Thanos is a Darkseid ripoff anyway so it’s back to his roots)

Even one of the concepts looks suspiciously like Darkseid

But to be fair, this is just a one-off first appearance, hopefully the next time we see Darkseid he’ll be done justice (no pun intended). Plus we’ve yet to see how his personality is done...but there’s a pattern with Snyder’s villains so ehh

Alternate intepetations are fine but it has to be a good interpretations and Snyder's execution like most of his films is lacking. I love alternate stories and I'm a supporter of reboots and remakes cause I don't think they're inherently bad so this isn't my narrow view of Superman one of my favorite Superman shows is Smalville the furthest from typical Superman you can get

As far as Clark's parents are some of the biggest issues with the films from the writing of them and the fact both MoS and BvS most memes moments are tied to them.

Snyder wrote two very unlikable characters who frequently told Clark "don't worry about other people worry about you" but then put them in danger and expected audiences too care if they themselves died.

That was a mistake and I stand by the feeling that the poor writings of the Kents is a huge affect on the character and his reception.

Point being his intepetarion fundamentally goes against alot of Supermans character and public image and unlike say Alan Moore's Miracleman or other popular reboots of characters it wasn't good enough quality wise too excuse the changes.

The look we see of him is in the history lesson so it's showing Uxas. If we get a glimpse of Darkseid it'll probably be a different look.

Even that thanos concept art gets me hyped for a darkseid that's not coming.
Definitely wouldve been great seeing a thoroughly invested Darkseid staring down Supes
