its def possible, i went from full omnivore to strict vegan overnight. i ain't saying that's what everyone has to do, not at all. Just saying that it's possible.

edit: and i especially aint judging those who sometimes slip but but are still trying. its so good to try, its okay to fail, but keep trying.

Yeah I just know I couldn't do it I kinda get addicted to stuff easily tbh

so privileged that I realize i do not need to pay others to abuse animals for my pleasure, correct.

I understand not everyone is in a position to suddenly go 100% vegan. But if they're shopping at a grocery store, pretty much any grocery store, it's possible to at least go 99% of the way.

My own home state is one of the poorest and largest, and once you're out of the bigger cities it's a legit food desert with only a dollar general with 100 miles. Those folks have excuses. mfs flexing their "east coast beast coast" "west coast best cost" s*** are the ones im talkin to. the ones hittin up wawas and aldis and krogers. they got no excuses.

"But if they're shopping at a grocery store, pretty much any grocery store, it's possible to at least go 99% of the way."

except that's not true lol. I live in Harlem and you know how much a single box of tofu cost at a regular c-town market is like 2.99? The closest to a good deal is H-Mart which is near Columbus Campus is like 2 for $3 which is great unless you lived all the way in East Harlem, good luck making that consistent trek every week if you got a 9-5.
And it's not an "excuse" you're talking about decades and centuries of culture that families have just been raised up in. You know how ignorant you'd come off criticizing certain cultures that revolve around meat? (e.g. Puerto Rican for example, every time I walk through the Day Parade those foods they cook be popping )

I keep telling you (like I tell every militant vegan....who I'ma keep it a buck 9 times out of 10 tend to be white, but maybe that's just coincidence) you not gonna get your message out by yelling at niggas calling them "soft and spoiled" when most cases (e.g. like soul food) people were/are making due with what they f***ing have.

Keep bringing up my skin color and i'll increase my monthly donations to BLM and Direct Action Everywhere

I like that you bring up the culture aspect, because it's real and it's a huge sticking point for most people. Like how are they gonna manage at a family function? Trust me, when I'm on the streets doing activism I be the most respectful person, but online ppl just walk all over you and post abt how ur skinny and could get beat up, im matching that energy, it is what it is.

But on that culture aspect. Culture grows and shifts and can be changed from within. This is why I'm on the streets where I live in a white minority state reaching out to all the latinos and showing them that things can be different. Showing them the horrors that go on behind the scenes, while bringing my own vegan tamales to show em that they can still eat good minus the cruelty.

I aint looking down on these cultures that already been downtrodden to hell and back, I'm tryna respect and celebrate with em aight. You projecting a s*** load of racist s*** onto me that simply does. not. exist.

Respect for keeping it a buck, but imma give it right back to you.

I'm sorry but this is a funny ass visual image I'm picturing in my head just imagining how seasoned those tamales are.

and it's not "projecting a s*** load of racist s***" when it's something I've had to experience white vegans exclusively do in liberal spaces since....2012 and quite frankly you check out a lot of those boxes. lol.

Also I swore I brought this up a long time ago and you kinda just...discarded it, but indigenious cultures and Natives were living harmonious omnivorous lives for centuries prior to capitalistic industries coming through and f***ing up the processes up.

    Colonialism ruined everything man, everything.

I work with many native Americans, I been to the reservations (upon invitation, not on some tourist s*** okay), I sat at the table on feast day and felt overwhelmed by them allowing me, a literal genetic descendant of their oppressors, to sit at that table. I had to listen to my boss (a native) tell me that covid took more than half the elders from his tribe, I had never seen him cry before that and he was and still is the strongest man I have ever met.

Im out here literally using my privileged position as a white male to try and reduce human and animal oppression and you just won't stop trying to give me s*** for it. I don't get it. I don't want the exploited poor to continue living next to pig farms causing them to suffer respiratory problems from all the pig s*** in the air. I don't want some of the last indigenous cultures in the Amazon to have their homes razed for the continued production of cattle. I don't want desperate people to have to work in slaughterhouses killing upwards of 90k animals a day only to go home with PTSD and lash out at their fellow oppressed peoples.

I am only trying to help, in every way I can, as often as I can, for those who need it most desperately. Aight?

I'ma always give white people s*** til the end of time regardless that's my brand. Every white friend of mine IRL know that. Same way I give my gender s*** to the point this site claim im anti-man lmfao.

but kudos, it sounds like you really care. I do think that sometimes you do come off holier than thou with some of the points you make. And (as I mentioned earlier) as a lifelong vegan that's also been around many humane farms and families that made their meat homegrown, I know it's more to meat than just what is shown in shock-value brochures that are funded by companies that still have their hands in those same slaughterhouses.

Hell no, I aint saying hooray for red meat and chicken that look like popeyes after eating the can of spinach. What I am saying is, let's not act like it's no way for animals and humans as far as predator to prey can coexist when it was happening long before your great great great great great great great ancestors decided to f*** s*** up.

Can u toss me some names or sources to track down about this cuz it sound a lil sus.

let's not act like it's no way for animals and humans as far as predator to prey can coexist

The only way I see it coexisting at our current population levels is if everyone eat like, 6oz meat a month lol. Animal ag has all but wiped out wild animals and their habitats. Things have to be reined in a great deal before we get even close to something resembling "sustainable" meat.

Anyway, I hope you can stop coming for my neck now even tho i'm pale as deaths skeleton itself.

Imagine making your diet your identity

    plant-based is a diet

    veganism is a philosophy

Also if your diet personally isn't part of your identity, go vegan for all of April.
