some interesting choices this episode for sure. I can see some people not fw some moments
I felt like the first half of the episode was off. I was hoping THAT panel was gonna be way more impactful but they blew right past it in a split second
also tengen is gonna be out there yapping her ass off all season and theres no way people gonna be able to speed read in the middle of chaotic fights
second half of the ep is crazy
I didn't mind the execution but I can already see a bunch of mfs crying over the maki/toji panel

It just needed another second and it would have worked.
fire episode. Only flaw for me was the music choices at some parts and the Toji Maki comparison panels weren't done justice

Tbh, in the manga that specific moment hit so much harder. In the show its almost blink and youll miss it. But overall it's such a spectacular presentation that complaining about such a small thing seems rlly pedantic.
cinema term is so overused but ever since CSM season 1 mappa been carving out such a fire niche with being the most cinematic and stylish studio. like literal cinema inspiration in terms of color theory, composition, interesting shots and camera work
after episode 1 someone itt said this is the sexiest anime has ever looked and I might be inclined to agree. it's just so clean and interesting to look at
I think it’s hilarious that a character like Naoya literally cries out loud “you’ll never be like Toji!!”, as if he’s not blatantly representing something (ahem) - and yet some JJK 'fans' still continuously downplay Maki and call her inferior to Toji. Like, you motherfuckers are illiterate.
I genuinely feel like a little kid waiting in anticipation for each episode of this series.
I grew up watching Cowboy Bebop on Adult Swim & thought that was peak animation from its fluidity all the way down to it stylistically. The story was peak & you cared for every character.
"JJK" is peak shonen anime.
This will overthrow One Piece, Dragon Ball, Naturo, Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist, etc. when it's all set & done.
The new manga Gege's cooking up is shaping up to be another banger too.
Modulo leak and the Zenin extermination episode dropping on the same day are absolutely feeding me

Y'all need to go watch Yuri on Ice. This s*** was there from the beginning.

2023-2024 vibes are back man
I'm glad parts of the episode was an homage to Naruto Shippuden #167 which further cements it as a modern classic. Gege is an avowed sakugatard too so it's cool that Shingo Yamashita who worked on that classic Naruto episode ended up doing the first two OPs.
I like how everything was in Maki's perspective.
Like, how fluid/effortless she was moving.
Whenever Toji was brought into the picture, is was always through Gojo's or Geto's eyes.
Everything looked super fast/chaotic.
These Mapa cats are killing It.
