Was there any reference to those folks that went missing?
He has been using the horses to lore the creature to him for 6 months, and has been practicing the show with horses for 6 months. The incident with the show was the 1st time he attempted it in front of a live audience.
The monster ate the humans instead of the horse only because Em and OJ fed it that fake horse the night prior, and it didnt like it

SIGHDropping a coin from high up could actually go thru someones skull but dropping a coin from above a house probably wouldn't make it stab through the boards of the front porch. unless the alien violently shot them out?
You're right the daughter wasn't there to witness the dad get killed but the son saw the power go out, heard the sound above him and then saw the items falling and knew the item that killed his father. That sequence of events happens again with the power and the noise, but the son never seems afraid of items falling from the sky again for some reason.
Well cause it happened so long ago, it’s a trauma he probably doesn’t keep at the top of his mind for self preservation reasons
Also I thought it was pretty obvious the alien shoots those items out at a high speed

This movie works on pretty much every level for me, even people who can only approach this as a exercise in plot have to admit it's pretty tightly planned out in way that Us and Get Out just aren't

I heard humans screaming when OJ follows that one horse on a Friday show prior to the incident, so I thought he had already tested sending humans up for sacrifice
Maybe an audio error by JP or a mishear by myself….if SY’s character hadn’t sent up humans before

I don’t think it means much more than a running joke Peele got a kick out of. To me he wants us to laugh at those moments, that’s why he directed that old white lady confirm his name was OJ, letting the audience know they can laugh at it.
This is still the same guy that did a decade of comedy skit acting and writing.

On a similar note, I’m still confused who ufo abducted initially at the start of the film. You hear the screaming of them with the panning audio as it moves and then ofc the metal hail follows.
Not really important but it does seem unclear what havoc the ufo already did and it’s relationship with Ricky/Jupe prior to the first scene.

shaleiroseEvery single question Logan asks has a simple and easy answer if you just think about the movie for more than two seconds though.
1. They ruled it as airplane debris from the sky; it’s urban legend that a quarter dropped from the Empire State Building can fall fast and long enough to kill someone, it’s not actually true but then again this movie is about aliens so not everything has to be real life accurate.
2. The movie emphasizes bad miracles. The “bad miracle” of the shoe standing up combined with Gordy fist bumping Jupe made him believe that he was special or had some special connection with animals / aliens.
3. He was clearly not right mentally because he took the meds before they started, so he’s a representation of the “tortured artist” stereotype (name one genius that ain’t crazy). He was obsessed with getting the “impossible shot” so that’s why he sacrificed himself to get it.
4. I agree it did seem like he was supposed to be some type of villain but then I realized he’s supposed to represent the theme of media trying to steal / whitewash from black creators, a theme that is prevalent throughout the entire movie.
5. It’s clear that Jupe remains close with her and/or takes care of her in some form because she’s clearly disabled from the attack.
6. He has trauma yes, but he also believes that he’s special and chosen to interact with other species. And he has the park because he’s an actor and he believes in spectacle, another big theme of the movie.
7. The film is divided into chapters centered around each animal, the last one being Jean Jacket to further emphasize that the UFO is an animal and not an alien.
8. This I can understand, she was in the movie for virtually no reason but it’s reasonable to assume that she had more scenes that got cut.
9. Like someone else ITT said, he’s the leading man, and the character’s father died in the beginning of the movie so of course he’s gonna be more serious and not as outgoing. Daniel did a great acting job as always.
10. Animals literally eat things that they shouldn’t be eating all the time because they’re animals, they don’t know any better.

Agreed and it’s intriguing since of his pivotal moment w/ Gordy informs his behavior with the alien.
