the act itself of a victim asking you not to come forward with their story isn't uncommon though the victim themselves has to come forward.
That is where clout chasing isn't the right word all the time. A lot of the time unfortunately it is clout. But if someone is a victim and they say "please don't tell anyone my story" why the f*** would you betray their trust?

Oh yeah I agree all the proxy s*** is stupid but I am saying even in the case there is a victim moments like this are why they are afraid to come forward. This whole thing has turned based on a lawyers text still no video.
When i came into thread today I would have sworn there is video. We still haven't heard from the alleged victim at all. Not hearing from the alleged victim and the lawyer flipping it on her having a mental episode saying there is a witness but not hearing from the witness either is like "okay".

But I feel like if a victim has trusted you with that information then even alluding to an additional knowledge of JM's previous abuse or w/e is an act of betrayal
the logic that "I couldn't confirm it was JM previously because it'll put people I know in danger -- BUT now I can confirm it, without going into detail" is the kind of weird s*** that I genuinely think only happens online.

This whole situation is a mess I am not saying he is guilty. More so its just awkward to immediately believe his lawyer before we get the evidence because she is a high paying lawyer vs his girlfriend who doesn't even seem to have a lawyer
. So of course I am going to believe the person with a high paying lawyer more than the person I haven't even heard from. Like we are getting all information about the case from his lawyer. There is no way to even officially see if the victim has recanted yet or anything from her side.
