I've already discussed it with @Brave, it feels like Drake had the idea going about making a more concise project (as he said in some interview) but he ultimately scrapped it with some of that material landing on DLDT.
It's pure speculation tho, i'd be happy to be wrong because DLDT is actually pretty fire imo, best Drake project in years.

It’s actually ridiculous the level hate the album got. It actually got the hate Chance dud got despite their being so much amazing music. Even the songs that didn’t hit were amazingly produced

Very good album at the least. The rap elements weren’t drake at his best in that bag but still delivered with Weston Road, U With Me etc on that side

Scorpion being garbage might be an even worse take than Views being garbage. Scorpion and Views get no skips for me.

TML is the only bad Drake album.

Views is drakes classic imo

One day when Drake goes part time as a artist y’all will reminisce and realize that he really doesn’t have a bad album.

Drake delivers Views, his most hyped album ever.

I could not believe how f***ing bad this album was.

Views is prob my least revisited album next to midpion.

Views was such a bad step in the wrong direction.
And honestly foretold the type of music we would be getting from Drake in the future.

Tootsie slide tape wasn't bad.
But I'm pretty sure CLB is gonna be a pop album. So another Views type of treatment.

So it's prob gon be a mid album with filler.

But who knows

Views slander boring now. Heard it all before but in reality the music amazing. Aged amazingly.

This why despite the slander the albums performance was so strong in terms of people going back and listening. Still performing up to now.

A “bad” album is like Chance The Big day where little or nothing resonated

Scorpion got more smashes than most albums in recent history. Y’all be gassing albums that don’t have half the amount of enjoyable music.

It had its faults though. Double albums hard to execute
