Nah it has nothing to do with Tyler or Jerrod’s individual sexualities, my original take was more based on

1) my lack of understanding of the genre of the media source; this seems to be a reality show, but watching these tik tok clips out of context it can easily be misconstrued for a sketch comedy show, of which Tyler has done plenty of in the past

2) If it is real, the situation in of itself IS absurd. You’re shoving a camera in front of a guy in hopes of asking him why he reacted that way to an admittance of love/friendship. It’s all very… performative? Tyler’s reaction to this just adds further fuel to the absurdity of the situation

3) I am part of a generation that grew up to loathe sincerity. What Jerrod is doing is pretty revealing emotionally, so my gut reaction is to find the absurdity of it all, or try to rebuke the situation as satire
