what a vile creature
that is not what I thought his voice would sound like
No one is saying the criticism isn’t legitimate, what’s right is right.
What I’m saying is that meme stands alone in its context of how it’s posted (by itself). That said also I sincerely doubt Amazon Prime is the best option for a vast majority of people. The US post delivers everywhere for free. You don’t need to spend 100/year, speed of delivery is a luxury. If you choose to use Amazon while also bring critical of it, you value the speed of your delivery over your principles against it.
Also at the same time, Amazon’s pricing/competitive services offered interlinked with how much they spend to operate. This is partly where their growth and dominance come from, they operate very leanly. (They’re cheaper than competitors because they can afford lower pricing of products since they cut expenses elsewhere) Amazon being cheaper isn’t a valid excuse to use it if you’re against it’s business model.
If you don’t think that business model is unethical why are you supporting it with your money and reaping the benefits of labor you deem to be cheap?
It’s a service that has many readily available alternatives. You can’t advocate for ethical money when you think the benefits of an unethical business model are too good to pass up.
I don't live in America so I'm only speaking from my own experience. I'm not going to say that it is the best option for a vast majority of people but I do know of some who order household items from Amazon because it would be cheaper than going to the store. Whether they pay for a full year sub or split it with other people, idk, that's not knowledge that I have.
I'm also not one of those people who's using Amazon either so no, I'm not supporting it.
For sure if you're ordering Amazon majority of the time and giving them your money then your criticism isn't going to be in good faith
no one is arguing that and I'm sure those people aren't criticizing Amazon
You make it sound like if you've ordered the odd Amazon product then you're automatically unable to criticize them.
Like are all criticisms of capitalism invalid because we perpetuate capitalism daily? This seems like you're trying to make it a black or white situation when it's not

If you readily use the service while also enjoy its cheap cost (due to the business you say you’re against) you don’t really stand for anything anymore. You can be empathetic but you’re a voluntary participant in that specific instance of capitalism.
Because if the price of these services increased, people would likely complain about it or just not use Amazon anymore.
You can’t separate these things, it’ll always be disingenuous to do so. You can critique what you want regardless but the issue won’t be solved in the consumer always chooses Amazon. If the consumer got what they wanted and Amazon paid the wages critics deemed fair — they’d pass the price onto the consumer. Higher prices and lower competitive advantage would shrink Amazon and consumers would leave anyway.

Man again...I'm not disagreeing with you on any of that lmao
I literally said that if you're ordering Amazon majority of the time and giving them your money then your criticism is disingenuous..unless you're including anyone who has ordered from Amazon before? Even a single instance
we already do that and its sheit. Bezos empire is built on delivering goods and services at very very affordable prices
why wouldn't his hospital be the same?
this would be the best healthcare that his workers would ever get based on their skills... which if youre in the warehouse are none.
this would also be revolutionary in the fact that workers would be able to seamlessly go from work to hospital to work again. the hospital is built into their work life so taking time off to go to the doctor wouldnt be a thing. taking a huge step into mixing career and lifestyle making it one. truly astonishing
lol

Nah we do agree but I’m just keeping on point because the meme itself is saying “participate” which in this case is someone who actively uses Amazon. This is where my criticism is aimed.

True. You did make that s*** personally directed at me though, someone who doesn’t use Amazon

Sorry that wasn’t meant to be that way just lazy English on my part
If you want something really niche, i'll gurantee you that there will be a shop for it. For example, if i want a specific type of screwdriver, i am gonna look for an online shop that specializes in that area. It doesn't even have to be local necessarily but there are tons of those specialized shops. They also care about the product they are selling.
I am telling you, from experience, there are very specific things (I live in New Orleans) that I can only get at Whole Foods.
There's a co-op here that I try to do the rest of my grocery shopping at tho.
Not gonna cap, i don’t think i’ve ever bought anything off Amazon now that i think about it
Meanwhile, Amazon employees pissing in water bottles, rushing to make their next delivery. Cameras watching them inside the van
Warehouse workers wearing smart watches that track their every movement, and penalize them for not being “active”
Wishing death on a man just bc he richer than you is wild
It’s his ruthless pursuit of wealth in spite of the damage he’s doing to people. Bro got enough for 1000 lifetimes.
Wishing death on a man just bc he richer than you is wild
Crying laughing that u think “just bc he’s richer than u” is the reason for the hate he gets😀
New Shepard better not ever explode while carrying other passengers then. Check every detail 72x over just like they undoubtedly did this time.
