best approach 2 religion is 2 assume everyone believe what u believe deep down and then treat them accordingly. like let's say ur Jay Elec, believe in God heavyyy. In this situation, u gotta just assume everyone else around u believe in God just as deeply, they just understand/express that belief in a different way than u do. Like does JB believe in god? Well idk if he personally understands it as "belief in god" but I would be very surprised if he doesn't believe there's some sort of order to the universe. From a distance, the lines get blurry yk. Honestly, wether it's true or not, it's best to assume that, whatever Bieber's putting out there for u to see, deep down he gets whatever it is that u get about God.
This is the #1 key way to respect people as a religious person, imo. It's easy to assume all these strangers don't know God like you do, or they just don't get it, but to do so is disrespecting their intelligence and humanity.
this is visigoth talk

Fashion killa? Didn't know u got banned
the noi is basically conspiracy theory cult come on now malcolm aint renounce them for no reason
I think this is too much of a generalization. Malcom left because the NOI wanted to be a solely religious movement that changed black Americans from Christianity to islam and not involved in politics
The NOI is blasphemous to Islam?
In what ways?
Dont they believe that a human is God?

it makes sense that Jay would not take this approach as its kinda baked into the 5% s*** that all people are not spiritually equal and that some people do just "get it" more than others
lol kind of a long answer but here we go
Spirituality can be found in religion
But religion isn’t found in spirituality
Religion usually focuses on a set of dogma tied to a particular culture which can influences many aspects of society like politics. It’s a system, and people who follow a religion focuses on following a set of beliefs. Questioning can be frowned upon and faith is an important element
Spirituality at its core is structure less, more individualistic & can be faithless. It’s based on questioning. Questions like Who/What am I? Or Where did I come from? The questions that lead people to start religion. Spirituality more so focuses on the individual human experience rather than a set of over arching beliefs so people who identity as such usually are against dogmatic thought but seek teachings or supernatural experiences that connects them to a better sense of self and the state of the world
Preciate the response. Had to read it over again like 30 times lol. this might be semantics, but why is it called spirituality.

all good, I deadass tried not to create paragraphs but failed lol
it just means concerning the spirit. The focus is on evolving that aspect of the self sometimes by however the person seems fit

The problem religious people would have with this method is that they aren’t talking about just any God. They are talking about THEIR God. So Bieber or whoever just saying they believe wouldn’t be enough
It would have to be to the T. Like Jay is asking people do they believe in the Abrahamic God, in particular the God Islam or The Nation identifies with. Not just some universal order
Like if he were to ask someone of Hindu faith, their answer would be yes but they would probably be talking about Shiva. That wouldn’t suffice for someone like Jay

Very interesting
Dont they believe that a human is God?
@ENSAHDESAH just put me on to Yakub. Don't know much bout islam but do they believe in the Trinity?

Nope
Nope
Don't wanna go to deep but what's the roles of Ishmael and Jesus in Islam
Don't wanna go to deep but what's the roles of Ishmael and Jesus in Islam
Messengers/prophets, who at the time delivered Gods word. So if you were a follower of either Ishmael or Jesus in their times, you would be considered ‘muslim’, as the word ‘Islam’ means ‘submission to God’. Their words ended up being changed by people so God sent the final messenger Muhammed (pbuh), whos words remain the exact same since his time here. Millions of people have the entire Quran memorized so certain words or sentences cannot be changed and theyve also found pieces of Quran from the prophets time which are identical to the Quran of our time
Sn for anyone: If Im wrong on some points, feel free to correct me

i guess. ur perspective kind of assumes a radical polytheism though. From a monotheistic perspective though, I think my approach is reasonable.
For example, either Brahman and Christian God are literally two separate entities, or its the same God under a different name. The first way, you get to assume that your religion is "right" and the other one is "wrong", but it also comes with the assumption of multiple gods. The second way, you kinda lose the ability to say that you're of the "right" belief, but it also means u don't assume a polytheistic worldview.
Personally, as someone raised Christian, the second way seems more consistent with my beliefs.
Really, the question shouldn't be "do you believe in God", it should be "Do you know God like I do?"

of course, my larger point is that "do you know God like I do" is still a pretty spiritually disrespectful question. its goofy to assume that your personal understanding is somehow above that of others. everyone knows God, its just in different ways, none being objectively superior or inferior. Asking sht like that or telling folks to 'find god' is more or less equivalent to assuming that they're just spiritually beneath you, which is a pretty grody thing to do.
