But if you feel like you're in the wrong body why wouldn't that be an illness or a disorder of some formFeeling like you're in the wrong body is a disorder; it's called gender dysphoria.
It should also be known that I use "disorder" strictly in the clinical sense — it's no longer actually referred to as a "disorder" by clinicians. It's recently been divorced from the word "disorder" because of the way cis/hetero people have used "disorder" in the past to ostracize and physically harm LGBT-affiliated people. So if you ever refer to gender dysphoria as a disorder in the future and get negative reactions, that's the reason why.
