Jun 21, 2025·edited·2 repliesANTIFor Skyfall, the character of Kincade was originally written for Sean Connery and he was legitimately considered for a while until Broccoli/Wilson/Mendes ultimately decided it was dumb/would be distracting and take away from what was actually going on. They sacrificed a lot of publicity, a likely box office bump, and something that admittedly, many people wanted to see, for the sake of the movie.
We’re never going to get a filter like that again. The second somebody goes… “Hey you know… Timothy Dalton would make for a great villain.” It’s going to immediately get greenlit and no one will even consider to second guess it.

That'd be really cool to see. I still remember the anger when Daniel Craig got casted as Bond. He went on to prove all the haters wrong and portrayed the character for a lot longer than anyone expected. My guess is that they'll wanna go younger this time around so they can stick with the same actor for even longer than they did with Daniel.
