just realized Jai hasn't had a production/songwriting credit on any of these new tracks, hopefully he has a level of involvement with the Fabiana track

    Ruthven May be my favorite
Everyone has put out dope stuff really
But Ruthven has this sound that
Almost gives me Off The Wall Era MJ
    Vibes

Any1 got a direct link to the MP3 of Reinen's new one? My laptop can't handle the Institute site 😅

My phone blacked out when I tried to access the PI site

These PI tracks seem to have some moments of “dead noise” I don’t really know how to describe it, it’s like they’re refined so much to the point where they basically lose their natural characteristics.

Like listen to Be Honest, theres times in the track where a kick will hit and that’s all we’ll hear, no atmospheric response or anything. AK is a genius so I’m in no position to point out production notes but on the contrary, DYLH & He both have a polished sonic atmosphere where sounds bounce back. There’s always sound in the foreground & background. Those two singles, in my opinion, blow anything from PI out the water.

Not even sure if I’m conveying this correctly but does anyone else understand what I’m trying to say

    FYI: I like the tracks

I get what you're saying. The production on that song is very sparse. I'm going to assume it was intentional

I feel like the production on Be Honest is minimal on purpose..a.k.'s vocals on this tune had so much room and i was really impressed by his vocal range , it felt different from his other tracks tbh. Maybe that's the reason🤷🏻‍♂️
Can't say the same about the other tracks though, they all felt rich to me (instrumental wise)

i think both jai and ak do it intentionally depending on the song

for instance for jai i'd say BTSTU is an example of an intentionally minimal track whereas jasmine is filled with pockets of sound

id say be honest is kinda the same whereas something like masquerade is anything but minimal

i see what you mean though but i defo think its intentional depending on what the song demands

    sidechain compression?

    sidechain compression?

nah thats not what hes talking about. they dont really do that to the extreme degree anymore. that was more of a jai signature technique (not unique in context of all music but i mean in terms of PI s***)

  • Jul 30, 2020

This Ruthven track is a bigg vibe such a pretty song. Ruthven lookin like the best on the PI label so far. Flawless discography.

I doubt there will ever be a Jai release under the Paul Institute. It would take too much away from the members. If Jai has a release, it'll be released on its own time away from the PI.

    A. K. said the platform was created not only for his solo work but for friends and people around them (the brothers) that were making innovative music. No mention of Jai cause he'll only be there to help members.

Just the fact that people are asking if there will be any Jai when we've been getting a rollout of perfectly good music right now...

    Wrong but nice try

If JAI PAUL thought he would take too much attention away from the institutes members then it wouldn’t have been named “PAUL Insitute”

How is putting their last name as a part of the Institute's name taking away from the members at all?
