I hope this basically confirms there’s a vinyl on the way. I know plants are backed up to hell right now but these dudes deserve some money.
Does this Ruthven stuff make anybody else super excited?
I feel like we are finally beginning to see the vision of Paul Institute come to fruition.
They have clearly found an artist that they believe is ready to be pushed on a level we haven't seen from them before.
Did everyone miss out on this or something?

True True I'm glad they're opening up a little and giving us insight regarding their process
This world need Paul Institute knowledge

These past two artworks from Ruthven are really beautiful - easily the best art direction that has come from the Institute. I really hope this is the new vision and they sway away from the amateur Microsoft Paint aesthetic.

No it doesn’t. We’ve been saying this at literally every step of PI and it’s frustrating so nah it doesn’t.

I don't mind the previous artworks. It's all in the color-schemes and the details that help give them all the PI feel. They've all pretty much been the same format anyways. These recent ones are just brighter/more colorful and with more unusual typefaces.
Comparing them to MS Paint is just dumb. Not everything has to be extravagant.

Also this one

This is different though. Def never seen this much promo or effort for anything they have released.

I’m not comparing it to MS Paint because they were minimal & less extravagant, I’m doing it because it’s something I could cook up in five minutes. Minimalism is one of my favourite aesthetics in decor, design & fashion so I have no issue but I personally wasn’t a fan of their old style.

I thought it was gonna start after Laylow so idek hopefully tho

lol times have changed eh? if this interview came out 6 years ago there would have been 100 pages added to this thread overnight. that said though, i would imagine the pauls feel more comfortable being public in part because there is less scrutiny
surprised no one has talked about the ruthven lyric "got to deliver the record today"... he clearly has a lot of drive to succeed and i bet a proper album is on the way. he said he wants to tour
