I'm really not that pressed about it. As someone who's had to claw my way up through life, it does bother me slightly that some people get to start out on easy mode and others don't. But it's all good, clout isn't everything and there's always another way to find happiness.

But if this is where the culture is at, it's all good. I'm just seeing what people think. Maybe upper class white kids do need a voice in rap. At the end of the day, there's more things to focus energy on.

Yeah I know how the world works lmao, I think things should change somehow for kids trying to get out the bottom (in general, race is part of it but it's not the only factor).
But also I know that's not an easy thing to resolve, and it doesn't negate 100% of the work from people who started on easy mode. They still have their own difficulties.
I looking to have a more nuanced discussion about all of this, but people in this thread are acting like I'm foaming at the mouth, which I find really funny

Nah man, I've said multiple times that he still deserves some credit. My views are about having empathy for kids who don't come from supportive households and loving parents, not about tearing Jack down. Hip-Hop is competitive, and his success does come at the expense of other kids.
